“Amazing building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The Opera House is just simply stunning. The ballet we saw was excellent although it was quite lengthy. It gets really hot in there so wear layers of clothing. Also it's quite confusing where you have to sit as the seating areas are named, rather than numbered.

“Took the tour, now the Vienna Opera is on my bucket list!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The building is stunning! Really something to see! It's history is also very interesting. We took the day tour and it was well worth the money! (Under 10 Euros!) Our guide spoke very good English and was happy to answer questions. I believe the English tours ran at 2:15 and 3:15 pm. We got in line half an hour early... when facing the building, there is a door just around the corner on the left side of the building. You'll see a small gold sign for guided tours.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were lucky to get tickets to the ballet. Fabulous performance of Romeo and Julia. The building is very beautiful. Good price for the drinks (not too expensive). If you order interval drinks you can get a seat as well. Nice eats. I would recommend that you try to get tickets to a performance.

You can look for tickets and buy them before you go the Vienna. That's probably the best thing to do - although I'm sure that some performances don't sell out. Romeo and Julia was sold out.

Well worth the visit. Dress up.

“Don't just go to the Opera House, go to the Opera!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Beautiful building, beautiful interior, beautiful theatre. Great food and drink. I saw Don Giovanni and my only complaint... why was Masetto the peasant wearing so much gold jewellery (of course it belonged to the singer, but how did no one think to have him remove it?)

Anyway, dress up and have a ball. If you purchase your tickets online... the ticket booth opens an hour before show time.

“A Must while in Vienna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

If you are planning a trip to Vienna, check out the website of the Opera House and order tickets beforehand. Chances are good tickets will be sold out if you wait until you arrive in Vienna, and then you'll have to pay a scalper's price for them. The offerings are fantastic, the building exquisite, and the experience will long be remembered.
