Owner description: Domgasse 5 is the only one of Mozart's apartments in Vienna that still exists today. The composer lived in Mozarthaus Vienna in grand style from 1784 to 1787. Nowhere else did he compose more music. Mozarthaus Vienna presents the life and work of the musical genius Wolfgang Amade Mozart, with particular emphasis on his Vienna years from 1781 to 1791, in a unique setting in the heart of Vienna close to St Stephan's Cathedral.

“For Mozart Lovers”

We enjoyed Mozart house - good audio tour included in the price. Interesting museum with music and photos and appropriate furniture. A well stocked shop - of course - before the exit. This is what people expect at such tourist places.

“Don't lose your time!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

I really admire all the work of Mozart and it is so good to follow the steps of someone you love or admire but this place is not worthy a visit. There is almost nothing to see and the staff is really arrogant. Sometimes we must be very honest and that was the experience I had visiting this place. Hope you had or will have one better than mine. HF. Ps: at least the lady at the gift shop was very nice.

“Not very interesting”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

There was not a whole lot happening at this museum - some of the artifacts were nice but the only thing I came away with was the "title" of having been there. There were no pictures allowed and it was incredibly busy - I was there late afternoon. I would recommend Beethoven's apartment over this one - you could take pictures and you could listen to some of his compositions while you were there (but it is similar in the fact that it is really just an apartment).

“Was't that impressed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Our hotel concierge warned against us going here. No that it is bad, but there are a bunch of displays about this life, not a lot about his actual house. My girlfriend liked it, I thought it was a pass, do it gets an average grade.

“Good way to spend some free time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We were on a guided tour of Central Europe and had some free time to explore Vienna. The museum is close to the city center so we thought we would try it. We found it to be interesting. The audio guide was helpful. As a Mozart fan, seeing his handwritten compositions was worth the price of admission. Not the best of museums but certainly better than some of the other reviews would lead you to believe.
