“Nice Sight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

It is nice to walk by the Danube Canal because it is interesting to see the water and the boats. There is always some activity and it is a place to people watch.

“Nice walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Especially in late afternoon you will enjoy this walk. You can go to various bars or bring your own food&drink and just sit and listen to music from many restaurants there. Donaukanal is decorated with graffiti and it makes it very interersting. There was a small concert under one of many bridges and it made the atmospeher even more beautiful. Also here you can see how much people from Vienna love gathering with friends and having fun.

“Your average Water front park”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

I went here with my husband by tram to relax and have a beer at by the Danube Canal. You can cross the bridge to the other side but we stayed for a few hours just to relax. You ca bike along the trails as well. It is just outside the subway too.

“The khaki Danube....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We wandered past the dear old Kammeroper (once my Vienna ‘base’) up to the Donau Canal to look at the very khaki-coloured Danube. I wonder if they still have the Sunday market on the quays. It looked rather sad and grubby, and was lined with commercial restaurant ships (and one Badeschiff), so we didn’t linger....

“Romantic Danube River Cruise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

We took the Viking Njord down the Danube, unfortunately it wasn't romantic as we were two women who just wanted to explore. Nerenburg was our first stop and very historically impressive if depressing because of the Nazi background. Regensburg was a lovely old town, as was Passau with the 3 converging rivers, which later was badly flooded. It rained almost everyday but the crew were delightful and made up for the weather alot! Melk Abbey was wonderful and I enjoyed Vienna for the architecture and the music performed by the residence orchestra. But the best was last when we arrived in Budapest Hungary. The market was HUGE and you could find any fresh food there on the first floor and all interesting items for home or individuals on second floor. I can recommend this if you are wanting to relax and maybe over 55 years old. If you tend to want to go off on your own and keep busy this is not a good trip for you. The constant rain didn;t help any but the spirits on board did help.
