“Doesn't compare to the Smithsonian”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

We were hoping for more history related to Austria. it was more like a miniature Smithsonian. It cost 10 euros to get in. the best part was the architecture!

“The technology and showcasing of exhibits are wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We went to this museum to see Venus of Wolendorf. There was so much more to see and the technology was wonderful highlighting the exhibits. There was so much to see and presented in a wonderful manner. The building itself is worth the visit.

“Absolute worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

I visited this museum 15 years ago and found myself 150 years back in time. Outdated, no light, no reconstructions, just dark and dusty cabinets full of stuffed animals.
But what a change with my visit last month. The museum has been given a huge modernisation. And the beauty is that they kept the 19th century jewels but wrapped them in 21th century. So modern computer animations, clear explanations and every now and then, for nostalgic purposes, a cabinet with a stuffed animal. Pay special attention to the building itself, it is an architectural marvel.

“Amazing architecture, amazing collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

This is more than excellent. The collection of meteorites is amazing and that is worth seeing again and again. The interiors are so unique and amazing that you have to see it to believe it.

Working models inside and collection of species were fabulous.
There is enough seating facility which I have never seen in any museum.

What really was missing was the cooling system which was not working during hot summer day.

“Beautiful museum - great exhibits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

This is a beautiful museum with in depth, varied exhibits. A popular author of tour books gives this museum only one star but if you are interested in natural science this is well worth the time and ticket price.
Contrary to what one tour book infers, this is not a children's museum but a fine museum of science with excellent, well thought out exhibits.
