“Not dissimilar to Paris or Budapest”

nothing truly spectacular in the city centre. St Stephen's is impressive but otherwise typical turn of the entury architecture.

“Overwhelming volume of impressive architecture and sculptures”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

The first you walk there, especially if it's in the evening, you are simply astonished by the number of palaces, statutes, sculptures, gardens and what have you. I find it hard to remember another city with similar number of so many impressively decorated buildings on such a big, yet concentrated area. It's simply amazing and seems to overwhelm you. Especially since in these days Austria does not seem to be such a world center. But then when you stretch your memory (or google a bit, if you never learned about it) it comes to your mind, that this was the capital of the impressive historical Austro-Hungarian empire. And that explains it. With all the carriages roaming around, you can easily picture the way this capital used to look in the past.Astonishing sites and places to visit. Hard to take it all in a single visit.

“An Excellent place to go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

You will find all the attractions in this area. Lot of good restaurants and quite many shops. Most of the attractions are within walking distance from each other.

“Stunning, busy, friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

Arguing with the spouse over the foot-map, a lovely Austrian young man, smiled throughout giving us directions and showed us where we went wrong.....complex maze with changing street names...arghhh, but a lot to shop for, see and do. Go early and be the first through the doors

“Relaxed Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

A lot of it is pedestrianised, not too many cars about. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, does not feel like a capital city centre.
