“So much cleaner than Paris!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

This is a true, Imperial city, meant to awe the empire's lowly subjects. They've kept the massive buildings intact and they are a joy to see. The Hapsburg Palace is the center jewel, with massive library, Spanish Riding School and the Household Museum filled with gold- and silverware, copper cookery, porcelain dishes and Meissen candelabra. You really get a feeling for how the Emperors and Empresses lived.

“A nice environment, but go shop at Kangar (line U1).”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

The cathedral is magnificent and worth going in to see. But if you are interested in shopping, go to Kagran (near the end of underground line U1). The Mall right outside the station is massive!!

“A MUST SEE and FEEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

I had a limited time to spend in Vienna and the historic centre with KHM was second on my list after the zoo.
It is a magnificent place, very beautiful, and very visitor friendly.
I spent half a day just looking at the buldings from the outside and strolling alng the streets and squares of the "BURG" and "Neuburg". This city within a city is perhaps the most beatiful complex I have ever seen. It is extremely well maintained and visitor friendly.
Few busses go through the Burg-Neuburg, so one can both walk, or ride a bus, or ride a horse cart. Plentiful possibilities to sit and admire the historic centre, because it is not enough just to walk by. Watching the enormous buldings, one discovers multiple statues, with tiny details, with gardens surrounding them, fontains amids trees and green grass, and then back to the impression of the whole, back to ancient history and myths as seen by emperors and artists. A lot for present day tourists to enjoy.
Tips: sensible shoes, and some reading in advance

“A real jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

A city trip,(or more trips)is highly recommended to this beautiful
city. Park your car in a "Park and Ride" place (only 3 €/day) and
use the U-bahn : fast clean safe. In spite of the many visitors in the Altstadt, the town is spotless. All monuments are well maintained. A must visit at least once in your lifetime
