“everything you need”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

we drove from salzberg to vienna and found our way to the apartment very easy. we found a park outside on a sunday but you have to pay monday to friday after 9am. also there is a locked up area at the end of the street for parking but we found the guy not very friendly. we were in the sohpia apartment and thought it was a great place to stay. yes the kitchen doesnt have a window in it but the place is quite open so kitchen smells can disappear easily. the ceilings are high and the decor tastefully done. in the main bedroom there is a cupboard and chair but there isnt a lot of room so the bed is pushed over to one side so you can get in. the other room has two single beds and a cupboard and is nice and light. the bathroom is small with a washing machine in there ( pity there is no dryer though) but it is all you that you need. the whole place is clean and comfortable and it is nice to come back there after a long day sightseeing. everything is close - trains/restuarants/shops.post office. we walked into the main part of the city most of the time and found it an easy walk and always felt safe at night. another attraction is having a bite to eat and a drink on the banks of the canal, there are some nice places to do this. the owner arranged our transfer to the airport and they provided great service and was much cheaper than we had been quoted in australia. if coming back to vienna i would stay there again and would recommende this very clean and comfortalbe apartment in a great location.

My family rented at Apartment Hermine for a 4-day trip to Vienna and we are delighted we did so. This must be the best kept secret around. The apartment was spotless clean, well furnished, roomy, comfortable and really well located. Yon are 30 steps from the U-Bahn or 60 steps to the Danube Canal! The owner sent us a welcome email with how-to-get-here instructions. They are discreet but available for you if you need them.

Room Tip: Remember, this is an apartment, not a hotel room! It makes you feel like home.

This is a fantastic apartment situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood but only a short pleasant walk from the city centre. The apartment was really well presented, very clean and spacious and ideal for us a family with two small children. There are a very good selection restaurants just a short walk from the building in the local neighbourhood. The apartment owner is very friendly and allowed us to store our bags for the day in a small room on the ground floor of the block.

The street entrance to the subway is literally 50m from the front door. Note that the Schottenring station has two entrances on either side of the river which are interconnected making it possible to walk into the city centre via the subway tunnels. The main station entrance is on the city side of the river.

It is a good idea to walk into the station from the apartment entrance to familiarise yourself with the route to the exist point which is not signed inside the station itself. If you are arriving at the station by subway it is accessed via the far end of the line U2 (purple) platform.

Also be aware that between about 6pm Saturday evening and Monday morning every retail outlet closes even small corner shops You will find it impossible to purchase anything so make sure you stock up on groceries if you intend to self cater.

In summary a highly recommended apartment conveniently located for everything. Would definitely stay there again.

We spent nearly a week here on the first floor and loved the apartment. High ceilings, very tasteful décor, modern in a classic style. Spotlessly clean and warm on cold days, this place is perfect. It is half a minute walk from an entrance to the u-bahn station Schottenring, on the north eastern bank of the Danube Canal. Our charming hostess allowed us to leave our bags in a locked room on the ground floor on our day of departure as we were getting a sleeper train in the evening. Living in this apartment allowed us to choose whether to eat in or eat out so it was much more economical than staying at a hotel and we had much more space. I would recommend this apartment very highly indeed and would certainly come back again on my next stay in Vienna.

This place exceeded our expectations - and by a long way. Our apartment was on the third floor (OK, a bit of a pain walking up there) but what a joy it was to experience the rooms.

This is a classic Vienna layout: comfortable, confident and spacious to the point of extravagance. It lacked nothing, and was clearly well loved both by the owners and by those who frequent it.

Although the location isn't central, it is close to a tributary, and across the bridge is a very lively part of town with many eating and drinking places. The metro is a couple of minutes' walk, though don't make the mistake we made of getting out at the wrong side of the river.

All in all, superb. We'll be returning.

We, a family of four, stayed in apartment Sophie from friday to monday before christmas. The apartment was clean when we arrived, has floor heating in all rooms (except the WC, for some reason).,It is located more or less on top of an underground exit and is therefore very easy to find and get to.

The apartment was more than big enough for the four of us, with the bedrooms located so that the two little ones were not bothered by the adults after bedtime. The price is good, too, making the apartment perfect for a family getaway.

I stayed in apartment 'Karoline' with a friend. It is a large appartment with one huge bedroom and a smaller one (but still fitting a double bed). It has a lovely large lounge, a spacious hall, a good bathroom with a nice shower but a very small and poky kitchen with no daylight. Don't even try cooking in this kitchen, we did and it was awful with the electric hob and no cooker hood or other form of ventilation. To be honest, the food in Vienna is utterly delicious so if you can afford it: eat out as much as you can!
We stayed there in October and the neighbourhood is quiet and a bit glum in at this time of the year. Not too far a walk to the centre of town. The apartment was clean, the decor is homely with a few unique pieces of furniture which makes a nice change with the usual unpersonal holiday rentals. The owner is pro-active, efficient and very friendly. Yes, there are a few flight of stairs but when I saw a 90-year old lady climb up the stairs with her shopping bags -declining my offer to help- ;it put things in perspective! I definitely recommend this place and would stay again when back in Vienna.

Room Tip: The top apartment is the most spacious
