“Quality, wiht nice extras”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Ate here as a bit of a treat for ourselves, our hotel concierge had warned us it was expensive when he reserved our table for 2 (same day reservation)

It happened to be a beautiful night, and sitting outside on the roof terrace was cool. Basically only couples, and mostly in "best clothes". We were not, and that was OK.

I had 3 dishes from set menu, my wife from a la carte. In between each course were some "freebies", tasters really. But all very nice. My sole was particularly good. As was the lamb.

Staff helpful and pleasant, if a bit stuffy.

With some water and a glass of wine not much change from $150, but as a once in a while treat I felt it was worth it.

“Charming staff, excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

You can sample the best of modern Austrian cuisine at lunch for 13 euros a dish. Small portions but splendid. It's popular with business clients who must value its calm efficiency. Staff combine professionalism and friendliness - sometimes rare in top class restaurants

“Beautiful restaurant perched up high”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Luxurious restaurant befitting the similarly luxurious Hotel Grand Wien
Attentive service which is never rushed, lovely white grand piano in the center of the room playing just the right tunes at just the right level
tables are generously spaced apart so you never feel cramped
Highly recommended for anyone looking to splurge while in the center of Vienna

“Lucky choice...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

We ate here as we were only able to get a table at our preferred choice. What a stroke of luck!
On a Monday evening the restaurant was quite quiet but we were not alone which an often be a problem in city hotels.
The service was welcoming and efficient throughout. The food was very good. The highlight was my main course of veal tenderloin was cooked just as I asked and served with a delicious mushroom risotto. I was subsequently told this was their signature dish and I can see why. The meal came with all the usual extras but special mention should be made of the petit fours!

“Great food and service”

The presentation, flavor and options were great. We lucked out on the white asparagus season. Intimate setting, lovely wine selection.
