“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

35 EUR for a double room with full breakfast and free parking was an excellent value for Vienna! 7 mins to the metro station and another 10 mins to the center made the location very good :)
The only downside is the noise from the corridors and the street but did not spoil our stay there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the parking, should be more quiet.

We stayed there for two nights. The hotel is far from the city centre, nevertheless there 's a subway station really close to it (about 300m). The room was large and clean. Breakfast was a ok. The staff of the hotel is not very friendly.

You can get better in Vienna for around the same price.
WIFI: A disaster. Almost non-existent. Most patrons had to sit in the main room to try and access and even then had very poor unreliable access. If you want wifi, DO NOT come here.
Service: Some staff were friendlier than others. It seems the front desk staff are the ones who have to deal with complaints and problems that the manager / owner knows about and doesn't care to address. One of the staff actually told us this after we insisted that we were moved rooms to get some semblance of wifi access (and this only partially helped).
Rooms: The first room we were given felt extremely cheap. Small, tiled, thin blankets with hairs on them. Less comfortable than a cheap hostel. We were moved to a different room after complaining about the wifi and insisting on a solution. This room was bigger, the blankets (doona / duvet) were clean this time, the bathroom good. Generally had a newer less "cheap" feel to it.
Cleanliness: Good.
Breakfast: Good, broad range, very quickly and efficiently restocked by the breakfast staff. Tables were also cleared quickly. Very busy breakfast room as it is included in all room prices, but this was ok. We simply asked / offered to share a table with other diners when it was very busy.
Location / accessibility: The U bahn station is about an 8min walk away. No problem for young people, but when it's cold and rainy, or you're a bit less fit, or just want to get home, this is not what would be described as "great". There is a tram station just outside but it does not offer a direct connection to the city centre.
Noise: We were there in Winter so kept the windows closed. This meant street noise was not a problem. But as other reviewers have said, the tiled floors are very noisy.
Overall, there are much better options in terms of Wifi, service and accessibility elsewhere in Vienna for the same price. Don't come here.

Very cheap accommodation and a little bit out of the way of the main centre of Vienna. 5 minute walking distance to Ubahn, either Alte Donau or Kagran station. Room was clean and breakfast was ok. Nothing special but not terrible either. Wifi internet did not work very well.

The hotel is nice located, on the banks of Danube. It looks more like a tranzit hotel, not one you would like to stay more days. The rooms have average size, clean and new furniture (even if it looks like a student residence). The breakfast is quite good.
Unfortunately, the parking is too small for the number of rooms but you can park in the street for free. At breakfast, tables are not enough for everyone. If you want to have breakfast between 8 and 9.30 you might wait about 15 min to get a free table, or you can ask someone to join at the table. The problem is that every table has 5 seats, instead of having tables with 2,3 or 4 seats.
The most disturbing thing are the doors and the hallway. Having tiles, the hallway is very very noisy. You can hear every trolley luggage starting from 6.30 AM and tourists voices as weel. The doors are not soundproof, and you can stick a finger under the door. Pillows weren't my type either.

Room Tip: If you intend to stay one night, it is ok. I won't stay again at this hotel.

We've stayed here a few times, visiting family in Vienna and the hotel had obviously had a spring clean in terms of paintwork etc. since last time. Given that we paid €111 each for 3 nights B&B, you don't expect 5* treatment, but the receptionists seem to have sent to charm school since we last went, which was unexpected.

Breakfast is OK - the only problem you will have is that there isn't much within walking distance outside of the Strand Cafe and McDonalds. U Bahn is about 7-8 minute walk.

This hotel has a very nice location, by the canal, with a peaceful and quiet surrounding (if you get a room oriented towards the inner yard). Also, very understanding and helpful staff. And that's about it all.
If you have a "luck" to get a room in the older wing of the hotel, be prepared to have a 4x4m cubicle, with the entrance door not capable of stopping any sound from the hallway. Ceramic tiles on the floor, no any kind of carpet... The cheapest IKEA furniture inside. There's a bed, a cupboard, a working table with a chair, 20 year old tv set... everything just saying "spend a night and go away, as soon as possible".
My biggest surprise is the bathroom. It has a sink and a toilet! And where's a bathtub? O yes, of course, what a stupid question - it's next to the bed, where else?!? The bathtub is acctually located in a separate niche in the room corner and is detached from the bathroom!!!
A lot of friends recommended this hotel to me. It seems that they all had stayed in a newer wing, cause none of them has such memories of rooms.
I think that, for the price we payed for two nights in this hotel, we could have gotten much more in some other hotel.
Note: as it's capacity is something aroung 190 rooms, be prepared to high school excursion groups, if you know what I mean!

Room Tip: Rooms oriented towards inner yard are supposed to be quiet. Also, make sure to go to newer wing of t...
