“Go for the view not the food or the "service"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Went with a large group. The service was absolutely appalling with a really rude could't be bothered attitude. Took about an hour to serve starters (soup) - yet we had ordered a set menu in advance some days before arriving!
Drinks orders took up to 45 minutes to arrive, and then only after repeated complaints.
No apologies from waiters. No smiles. No eye contact. Drinks and food more or less slammed down onto the tables.
Food was poor and uninspiring but palatable. Had the appearance of hospital canteen food.
This is quite obviously a restaurant that makes its money from gullible tourists who come for the outstanding view, and will never come back again. And do they know it!
If we had not been in a large group we would have walked out.
So by all means go up to look at the stunning view - but do not eat here. You will note that most of the positive reviews are swept away by the view, and perhaps this is why their judgement of the food and service appears through rose tinted spectacles.
You have been warned!

“Foreign visitors don't go”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

We went as a part of group prebooked...all excited and geared up ready to party following busy day.we were aware that locals don't visit here and we realised the reason in first 5-10 mins. Staff were very blunt, rude, irritable, making very upsetting facial expressions on any requests.it was very clear that they had done their training from a special institute which teaches how to treat your customers so that they don't come ever agai or recommend anyone else. First drink was served after a wait of more than an hour. Second drink - and the expression was what on earth are you asking.few of the colleagues who were vegetarian- they got response how dare you.......we don't welcome such idiots. Food was really just ok but served not hot as you would expect. Every other thing and response was coming with full of surprises.....bad ones. Well view was good but do you really want or wish to have a view where you are treated and fed badly.so not value for money or time. Total time spent over 3 hours to get one, drink, one main dish and a desert. So in short if you want view to and climb mountain or high rise but not Danube tower.......

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

we went there for dinner - we were 30 mins late but still got accepted - food is excellent and view is simply amazing - i suggest an early dinner to see both view at sunset and view in d evening - that was my plan but it was foggy and rainy so it was not really a success - but still a must - their beef is excellent

“Amazing view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We went there at sunset. The view over Vienna at this time of day is absolutely amazing. The sunset colors were so great and because sunset is my favorite part of the day, I really enjoyed it. So if you like sunsets as well, I advise you to catch it. We didn't eat at the restaurant there so I can't say anything about it.
