“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

After reading other reviews and booking our holiday on the strength of them, we were so pleased that the Kaiserhof lived up to its reputation. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant. The rooms are cleaned daily, and are well presented, nice to have clean towels daily. Very comfy beds.
The standard of food in the restaurant was excellent, the variety was superb with something for everyone. With a special mention to Andrea, Natasha and Humberto who made us feel especially welcome.
The only downside was the fact that we had to pull our suitcases up from the cable car car park, which was a little way up a steep hill. It was ok for myself and my husband, but rather more difficult for my mother in law and aunt who are both in their seventies. Maybe Thomsons could address this minor issue.

Dear Ms. Sue and family,
we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us at the Hotel Kaiserhof and would be happy to welcome you and your family again next year. Hopefully the arrival with suitcases will be more convenient then ;-)! Have a wonderful summer and best regards from sunny Kitzbühel!

This was our first visit to Kitzbuhel and this hotel, we travelled by car. On reaching reception everything went OK and they spoke english but I was not asked if I wanted help with my suitcases or if I needed help finding the underground garage, this was a poor start on what turned out to be a fantastic stay.
The breakfast is fantastic and I like the idea of a chef cooking your egg as you like it and chatting with him/her.
Dinner is as good as breakfast and superbly presented. All the staff seem to speak english and are enjoyable to talk to and very helpful. its just a short walk into the centre of Kitzbuhel.
We liked this hotel and hope to return

In line with most other reviews we were very impressed with the overall standards at this hotel. We had stayed here when it was the Montana in the early 80's so the changes were significant.
The hotel is well situated for the Hahnenkamm cable car and railway station, and is only a 5 minute stroll to the centre of the town. There is a high standard maintained throughout, everything is spotlessly clean and all the staff members go out of their way to make sure all is well. The restaurant provides excellent menu options and they catered for my wife's dietary requirements faultlessly. Our room was comfortable, well appointed and reasonably spacious - but here's the catch. We booked with Thomsons and paid for a large room and thought nothing more of it until speaking with another guest on the way back who did the same and had a significantly larger room with a better view. (Our room overlooked the road which becomes quite busy and noisy at first light and had a sunless NW facing balcony.) Thomsons don't say what room (by name) you get when you book, unlike Inghams for example which give you the room names to correlate with the hotel's own website, i.e. you can see explicitly what you are getting. (Incidentally Ingham's guests were getting 3 excursions for the price of 2 as well!) On returning home and checking the hotel's website we see that our room (Wilder Kaiser) was smaller than the standard Rettenstein room. So on the face of it it seems we paid more and got little for it except early morning noise. We'd have been none the wiser without speaking to other Thomson guests - unfortunately too late. That said - we enjoyed our stay there.

One other tip - if there's 2 -5 of you and want to visit Salzburg or anywhere else by rail rather than pay the excursion fees buy an Einfach Raus group ticket for the train and you can all go anywhere on the OBB rail network from 09.00 until 03.00 the next day for 35 Euro.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the road side - noisy from early morning with goods and construction traffic.

After what has been our most enjoyable holiday in Austria to date we would like to say ' a Big Thank You' to everyone at the Kaiserhof, Kitzbuhel who contributed to making our holiday so memorable.
We totally agree with the other reviewers who complemented the staff on their friendliness and attentiveness. It really is a case of 'nothing is too much trouble'.
Our room was well appointed, spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfortable.
The food was superb, the breakfast buffet was extensive while the evening meals were a series of culinary delights with a few surprises.
Both the kitchen and restaurant staff were adapt at providing a varied and extensive gluten free menu, even sourcing an Austrian brand of ' gluten free ' beer.
For the first two nights we were disturbed a little by the noise of the trains, although in fairness the window was open quite wide. Thereafter no problem.
All in all we find the Kaiserhof impossible to fault, so much so that we are already looking to book our holiday there for next year.

We stayed at the Best Western Kaiserhof in Kitzbuhel from the 18th June until the 25th June 2014 and I must say that we were highly impressed with both the hotel and the staff . Our room had a balcony overlooking the cable car station but it was so quiet that we had to look to see if the cars were running , the room was excellent ,clean, spacious and very well appointed . The staff were so friendly one would think that we were regular visitors , but they were the same to everyone , courteous ,friendly , helpful and always smiling . The food would deserve a whole review on its own as it was sumtious and the Chef Attila is a lovely friendly happy man , with always a word for everyone at breakfast , all in all our stay could not have been better and our thanks go to the staff and management for a wonderful experience . we have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone .

Room Tip: No need for tips all the rooms are excellent

We've recently returned from a stay at this hotel and were really impressed - the staff were sooo friendly and welcoming and the place was spotless and felt every bit as good as we'd hoped it would. The evening meals included in the half board were interesting and enjoyable - some of the dishes were a little odd but being given each day's menu in english in a morning and again to refer back to on a night kept us entertained. Breakfast left us full to burst too. Switching between German and English seamlessly the staff were very helpful. And if you skipped lunch while you were out the 'hearty' snack served between 4-5pm was more than enough to call this full board. We only had two very minor issues - a leaky sink and a dripping flower basket above our balcony - both were sorted very quickly and with sincere apologies from reception. The pool was lovely and cool given we'd 30-35 degree heat during our stay and any worries we had about noise from the cable cars coming past were unfounded... the anouncements from the nearby railway station were louder but not so that we could hear what they were. All in all a good location, wonderful welcome and comfortable room made this a lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the cable car/garden were nice but the first floor is at ground level at that side of t...

This hotel is wonderful and all the staff are very helpful and friendly and the food is excellent. We booked this hotel in advance for a week in June and were disappointed when our travel agent rang the day before we travelled to say the hotel had overbooked and we had to spend the first 3 nights in its sister hotel. However, when we arrived the sister hotel (the Schweizerhof) was just across the road and was lovely, friendly and welcoming and they gave us a lovely room with a wonderful view. When we transferred to the Kaiserhof, the staff were very helpful, moving our suitcases, etc. They also were very welcoming and apologetic and we received a room upgrade, wine and chocolates. The rooms are very spacious and luxurious and we had a lovely terrace. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The location just near the Hahnenkamm gondola is brilliant, with just a short walk into the centre of town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.
