We stayed at the Jagerwirt from the 8th June to the 15th and were allocated room number 221. We had a lovely view of the mountains out of our window and the room was very spacious, with a separate living area away from the bedroom area. The balcony was lovely, and we enjoyed sitting out in the morning and evening. the furnishings are quaint, I thought the whole hotel was very traditionally decorated and I loved that! We slept really well but after all the exercise and fresh air during the day, this was to be expected!
We forgot about the welcome meeting (napping!) but thought that this was a lovely idea, and all staff were so friendly. They literally couldn't do enough to help; always on hand to offer drinks, advice and a chat.
The food was amazing. After a full day of walking and cycling, we were so grateful for the plentiful food on offer. As a vegetarian, I can confirm that the food is great for any special requirements. For breakfast there were cereals, Austrian pastries, sausages/bacon, scrambled & boiled eggs, bread with toaster, hams, cheeses, yogurt...
For dinner, you chose your meal at breakfast time, and consisted of starter-soup-salad buffet-main-dessert. There were themed nights, such as Italian evening, Austrian evening and Farmers Buffet. We loved every meal. For vegetarians there was no choice of main course but I loved every one. For meat eaters there were generally 3 choices.
For meals, you get allocated a specific table that is yours for the week, and it was really lovely to get to know the other people around us, to hear what they had been upto and had planned for the day. We met lots of really lovely people, (we hope you are all recovering well from your trips!)
There is a charge for wifi, which is a shame, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet from our buzzing phones, and this helped us to relax!
The weather was great, we had 2 days of sunshine, the remainder were all cloudy but warm (t shirts fine in the day, cardi at night) and only rained once for approximately an hour. There were storms overnight but this generally cleared any bad weather that was around by the time you got up in the morning.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and the town, and hope to return again in the future.
Thanks again for everything!!
