“Great Kitzbuhel hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

I'm a bit late writing this review, as we stayed there in September 2012. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the pedestrianised centre of Kitzbuhel with all its shops and bars. Where we perhaps had quieter evenings/nights compared to the hotels nearer the centre, there was a lot of street noise first thing in the morning....(deliveries/waste collection etc) but it was worth it for the views from the balcony, and didn't bother us too much as we get up early. We booked a package and then paid the hotel directly to upgrade the room, it was very comfortable with its own sauna. The receptionist was very kind and showed us all of the room types when we arrived (it was quiet then!) before we chose the one we liked, but they all looked great! Good food and excellent service in the dining room. We had great weather the whole trip and were out walking every day, and using the wellness area was a lovely way to relax after a day out. Just a shame one of the steam rooms was out of order the whole week. Nice indoor swimming pool and one on the roof too, which we didn't try. Would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing away from the road (but you may have to compromise for a lesser view)

Good hotel, decent location. We had a terrible greeting from reception upon arrival, what they could get wrong, they did get wrong. Manager was quick to apologize. Rooms are very basic, poor TV channels. Menu is very meaty, if you like veal, you are fine. On a positive note, it is very well run, clean and the staff are helpful and friendly.

This hotel is beautifully decorated the food is first class and you would find it very hard to find fault until you go to bed the piano bar is so loud that for 3 nights I was unable to sleep until 2am the Kareoke nearly sent me insane their was not any apologies from the manager he left a young receptionist to deal with the problem for this reason I would not go back. My room no. was124 which is directly above the piano their we're many complaints from other guests concerning the noise.

Room Tip: As high as possible

The hotel overall is absolutely exceptional, with great service and great staff. We received a room upgrade with a sauna in our room and an amazing view. The hotel has a valet parking and they take your car to the garage and they unload all your luggage. If you have skies, they take them to the ski room, perfect service. The room was very comfy, big and perfectly clean. There is no wireless internet in the rooms, only in the lobby - which is a bit of a drawback. The spa area is big and very nice, there is lots of space to relax. The sauna area also has a relax area and when you are there you forget about time and you can just enjoy the calmness of the place. The pool area has an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. The only thing is that once people get out of the pool/showers the floor gets wet and extremly slippery. The fitness area is small, but quite well equipped for an inhouse fitness place. The roof top pool looks very appealing, but still is very cold in winter. The tea that you can make yourself at the spa area is very nice and tasty, great brand! The breakfast buffet is simply amazing - the variety is excellent. During the evenings there is live music, which is nice when you want to enjoy a drink next to the fire place. Sometimes it can become a bit too noisy, though. The hotel is just next to the city centre, a perfect location. We actually left our skies in the lockers at the ski station, so we do not have to carry them daily, but there is also a ring bus that has a stop at the back of the hotel and you can take that in case you do not want to walk.

Schwarzer Adler confirms its high standards, also after the recent restructuring. It was the first time for us the refurbishment and we found everything absolutely in order. From the room standard, very clean and well equipped, to breakfast and swimming pool. Staff very friendly and helpful

After booking our holiday over six months ago, we had quick check on Trip advisor week before our departure to see the latest reviews!! Concerned to have read that the music in piano bar was an issue! I called the hotel prior to our arrival and requested to be allocated room in quiet area.
On arrival we checked into our rooms on third floor! (324) the rooms have been recently updated and a beautiful job has been done. Very modern and clean.
However, there is no room thermostats or aircon, so rooms get very warm you need to open the windows ! The main rd runs outside !
Once tucked up for night for peaceful sleep, the music came alive in piano bar.
I couldn't believe you could hear it in 3rd floor ( even though our room was above it).
We complained, but we're told hotel was full. We complained following day to rep, as my husband then realised we had not been given correct room anyway. After speaking to reception again after 3 rd night, they finally moved us to a suite.
We love a sing song and party atmosphere, but every night is not ideal if you are tired and just want full nights sleep.
Staff are very pleasant and are generally very helpfull
The best thing I can about this hotel is the food! You can not fault it. The breakfast choice is amazing ! Dinner is a five course meal, superbly presented
Wine is bit pricey, but plenty of choice.

If the hotel could just sort the music issue out, it would be pretty perfect.
