My friend and I dined in the hotel a few weeks ago, and were amazed at the choice of courses available and the high quality of the food that that was served. Very attentive service and nice relaxed surroundings. Would highly recommend!

Returned to this Hotel in June 2014 and had a wonderful holiday. Hotel Staff were excellent and most helpful. The room cleaning staff deserve a special mention as the standard was superb. Many thanks to all.

We went as a couple to Kitzbuhel so that my partner could take part in the European Triathlon Championships Age Group event. We travelled by car from England, via the ferry to Zeebrugge. We were booked to stay half board, and the long journey meant that we arrived on a Monday night after a 12 hour drive and had missed dinner. However, the staff were brilliant, and in no time had helped us park up, unpack the precious bikes and found us something to eat that definitely looked as if it was prepared especially, not just something that the head waitress Maria had "found" in the kitchen. This set the tone for the wonderful way they looked after all their guests for the rest of our stay!

The hotel is not enormous, so it retains a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere, and is (at least in summer) mostly a place for those who walk or hike or want to be somewhere quiet. It has a lovely spa area, a nice pool and the food is excellent. There were a few children staying, but I think while they were perfectly welcome - with a play area near the wellness centre - the clientele are more likely to be adults.

The hotel is right next to the upper railway station in Kitzbuhel, so you may hear the bell for the level crossing, and may find that occasionally you have to stop for a couple of minutes before the barriers go up to continue on the road. However, the other thing the hotel is right next to is the cable car up the mountain to the main ski runs, or in summer some fabulous mountain hiking and mountain biking routes. The wild flowers on the mountains were worth the visit. The only mode of transport we found a little difficult was navigating the one way streets by car in the town in the dark...

The room was spacious, warm and clean, with comfortable beds and the usual Austrian "duvet each" arrangements. In fact, cooling the rooms down can be harder than warming them, though it is no surprise in a winter resort like Kitzbuhel. If you are wise, close the blinds inside the windows first thing in the morning and by the evening the room should be quite pleasantly cool.

The food in the restaurant is excellent. Half board is actually a little more like the "pension" arrangement. At Schweizerhof you have a menu on your table at breakfast and pick your main course for the evening. There is a meat, fish or vegetarian option. There was chocolate risotto with salmon one night, and I just didn't feel adventurous enough to choose it. Perhaps given that the chefs were brilliant I should have trusted them and tried something new; it is my one regret!

The staff were very helpful on the day of the race, providing a breakfast for all those who had to be at the Schwarzsee for the triathlon well before the normal breakfast time. This was most appreciated - it can be very stressful just before a race, and this was a vital to the preparations for the competitors.

We were sincere when we said we would come back to Schweizerhof again, and will probably be back one winter season to snowboard. With a hotel right next to the runs and the cable car, it would be perfect.

Room Tip: We were in room 118, right above Reception, with sun for most of the day and a view right across the...

This hotel is excellent, the food is very good and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We had booked the sister hotel, the Kaiserhof, and were disappointed when our travel agent rang the day before we travelled to say that hotel had overbooked and we had to spend the first 3 nights in its sister hotel, the Schweizerhof. However, when we arrived the Schweizerhof was just across the road and was very friendly and welcoming and they gave us a lovely room with a wonderful view and terrace. When we transferred to the Kaiserhof, the staff were very helpful, moving our suitcases, etc. The location just near the Hahnenkamm gondola is brilliant, with just a short walk into the centre of town. The hotel has a really nice sun terrace where you can enjoy a drink with great views. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for 3 nights owing to the Kaiserhof being double booked but overall this is a very good hotel. Rooms were airy and spacious, bathroom was rather compact but functioned well. The food is of a very high standard. It was nice to to see plenty of fresh fruit and bread for breakfast as well as hot items if you wanted them. Good choice of main course for dinner but surprisingly no starter, just salad, soup, mains and the dessert. All the food was of excellent quality, well presented and very tasty. The staff were always attentive, one or two a bit on the slow side now and then but on the whole very good service. The wine list was good and reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel, on a par with most hotels in Kitzbuhel.
Even though we weren’t supposed to be staying here we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Having stayed at a number of the 4 star hotels in this resort I would say this was the most disappointing in regards to the room & Spa facilities. The rooms are clean and tidy but very pokey, we upgraded to a superior room so who knows what a standard one was like. The Spa was not a patch on the Kaiserhof and the Schwarzer Adler hotels, the pool area is fine but the steam and sauna's can be busy and again we found it a bit pokey. We could not fault the food, staff and anything else about our stay here but having being spoilt at previous hotels for the same if not less than what we paid to stay here I would plumb for the Kaiserhof on my next visit. Locations wise it is perfect so if you want somewhere to ski and chill out it is fine.

Room Tip: Well we did move rooms and it was not much better than the one we had right by the reception area. H...

This was our tenth year skiing at the Schweizerhof and it was as amazing as ever. Fantastic hospitality as alway from The family Maier and their staff. This year we stayed in the spacious penthouse apartment with amazing views and plenty of space to relax. Delicious food, warm family atmosphere, fantastic ski-in ski-out location right by the Hahnenkamm gondola.
Thank you for a brilliant time as always, looking forward to seeing you next year!
