Unfortunately our available weekend for going up was shrouded in mist and rain, but through the brief breaks in the clouds the view was awesome. The plan was to make the trek up there and have lunch; not much we could do about the weather, but the lunch itself was disappointing. The prices were high for both food and drinks compared with the rest of Innsbruck, the soup we had was barely more flavoured than dishwater, and the service was as tepid. Overall, though, the facility is well-structured for visitors in the typical Austrian way, with loads of information and tasteful decoration (classy posters of all the ski-jump champs down the stairwell, should you choose to brave it! Closest transport stop is the Sightseer bus at the Kaiserjaegermuseum; quicker return to town is tram #1 from the bottom of the hill path in front of the Stiftkirche Wilten.
