The brochure promised me "inside, you enter into a dream." Well they weren't wrong there, trouble is that this kind of dream comes from eating dodgy forest fungus.

We paid our 8 euros entry and entered through the 'giant's mouth' into the exhibition and were instantly plunged into darkness. If you are unsteady on your feet or suffer from claustrophobia then I would not recommend you visit.

I had expected displays of how crystals were formed or how they are turned into jewellery and objects of desire. What I got was bizarre and consisted of: a zebra in a stiletto (yes, really!) a mish mash of art that looked like leftovers from a municipal gallery and finally after blundering my way through the crowds I emerged into the shop. The whole experience is very disappointing, not worth your money. Stay in Innsbruck instead, go to the Crystal World shop and browse there without paying.

When one imagines Swarovski, he or she will think about elegant crystals and designs...and that's exactly what we thought too until we got there!

The tour bus that takes you from Innsbruck to Crystal World is decorated pretty nice. The ride was comfortable and fast. It runs every 2 hours.

Out of all the exhibits, the crystal dome was probably the coolest. Otherwise, the rest of the exhibit made absolutely no sense to me. It's very artsy and I just can't wrap my head around it. For instance, there was this huge accordion....It probably symbolizes something but I guess my skull is just too thick! Ha.

The highlight probably came at the end when you reach the gift shop. The crystals there were stunningly beautiful but most of the items you could have been/bought at the Innsbruck location near the Golden Roof. Plus, the prices aren't any cheaper than back home in Canada.

The admission price was acceptable but still not worth it. My suggestion is go and enjoy the park outside (it's free!). There's the maze behind the waterfall (over the hill) and an observation tower with extremely binoculars where you can see for miles and miles. But beware, it's 2 hours until the bus returns...so visit at your discretion!

Skip the Swarovski Crystal Factory Musuem/theme park unless you are in to modern art. There is no demostration/viewing of the crystal fabrication process and the store, although it has a tremendous selection, has the same set price as the rest of the world.

Fascinated by Swarovski products and curious about the company, we made the trek to the so called Museum. After paying 8 Euro each for everyone 12 and over, we entered the museum. First you see the largest and smallest cut crystal. With much anticipation we proceeded deeper into the displays. We kept hoping that it would lead us to something worthwhile, maybe even educational. It was not to be. One tacky display after another. No information about the history of the company or the production of crystals. Finally you end the tour in the gift shop with prices higher than at the regular retail stores. If you go in the spring and summer, enjoy the grounds outside. Don't waste your time and money on the museum unless you like tacky visual effects and are willing to pay about 10 bucks apiece to see them. If you are curious about the company, the internet is a much better scource.

I am a lover of Swarovski crytals and always thought of this museum being sort of a mecca-type place to visit. After many years of waiting to go there - I made it with much dissapointment. The concept is you are walking through the mind of a giant who lives in the mountain....(what? - how does that relate to the Swarovski story). The museum is nothing more than a bunch of weird artsy-fartsy displays that have very little or nothing to do with crystal. I did like the tree that was made of crystal, but other than that it was just plain weird. They should turn this museum into more of a "how the company was started" and "the process that goes into making and designing one of their crystal products" or at least make it free. I agree with the other people who said the store in Innsbruck is 100 times bettter than this experience (and there were some great deals at the store in Innsbruck that the museum did not have).

Happy travels!
