“Good Positition”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Stayed for three nights, and found the hotel comfortable with a very helpful staff. I agree with the other reviewers when they mention the smell of cigarette smoke, but it wasn't a problem (I have never smoked and thought it would be a big negative). We had a room on the 4th floor, which was clean and well equipped, and good views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection, but a little more fresh fruit would have been nice. It is a 5 minute walk through a lovely park(great if you got young children) to a shopping mall, and a further 15 min. to the old part of Innsbruck. It is easy to get the F bus from the airport to near the hotel, we just asked the driver and he told us which stop to get off at, and I recommend getting the Innsbruck card, as this also allows you to travel to the airport as well as great access to all sights and buses.

I have read most of reviews of the hotel and my opinion is that hotel is very good .Maybe they had changed many things that people were unhappy about or we were lucky with room.Room was cleaned very good , internet funcioned well, breakfast was O.K., free parking behind hotel and good location.I was specially surprised about our bathroom - it could fit in 4-5 star hotel , a year ago we stopped in a 4 star hotel in Monaco that was of course up to standarts - still I would prefer to have Altpradl´s bathroom in it !There were to things we did not liked - the smoke coming from downstairs and curtains looked very oldfashioned and probably not washed last 10 years. But generally my family was very satisfied with our stay and I do not have any reason not to recomend it to others. Our room was 310.

Room Tip: As far as possible from reception if you are a non smoker.

This Hotel is rated at 3 stars which is just about correct.

First the pros, the rooms are clean and tidy and well kept, the reception is helpfull and the price reasonable.

But the cons are, the rooms are very small, we ordered a double room well in advance but were given two singles pushed together.

The area is so so , we were warned by a taxi driver that the area around the railway overpass was dangerous at night for drug dealers and muggings. Although we did not encounter any problems it did look seedy.

Almost every hotel room in the world these days has at least one English TV channel, this place had none,,very poor.

There is free WIFI but the signal is very weak almost hopeless.

The breakfast is basic continenal with no fresh fruit. The girl working at the breakfast was not very friendly, barely a good morning.

There are no tea or coffee facilities in the room, you must pay about two euors for a cup at reception..Bad!

There is a terrible cigarrette smell from the downstairs bar area.

I would recommend this hotel for a short stay no more than two nights.

While the hotel isn't particulary close to the downtown, it is a nice 10-15 min walk to the train station and an additional 10 minutes to the downtown from there. There was ample free parking behind the hotel which was nice since we drove our car there. Reception staff were very friendly and spoke fine english. For me the best thing was the hotel is situated along one of the smaller rivers that runs into the Inn river and has a lovely joggin trail, that I went jogging along one morning to burn off all the good food and wine from the Chirstmas Market the night before. I ran for a good hour and the scenery was fantastic! The bed and room were a bit squeaky and oldish but i didn't find this a major problem. The breakfast was standard fare with Bread, meats, cheeses, yogurt and even real hard boiled eggs! I rather enjoy walking to see the sights so for me this hotel while not super nice perfectly served the purposes of my visit which was to see the sights and experience Innsbruck's Christmas Market.

We stayed at this hotel for one evening in July 2012. The hotel was in a great location, only 10 min walk to the city centre. The hotel was dated looking and wasn't overly clean. We found dirt and hair in the sheets. It made me wonder if the housekeeping had changed the sheets before our arrival.

A good choice if you are on a budget, but I wouldn't want to stay longer then one evening.

We where 2a & 2c. Our room was large (by European standards) and comfortable and very clean. Lack of pillows was disappointing but on reflection this is the same through most of Europe. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special, if you leave with an empty stomach then it is your own fault because the amount of food is plentiful with a reasonable variation if very basic.
We had a GPS in our car which we regard as an essential when travelling and it was very easy to find with plenty of free parking at the back.
It is a long way from good restaurants which is why I say that it is OK for a few nights and even quite a way from restaurants full stop if you are on foot and the 'hotel' does not have a restaurant!!
Staff have a good command of the English language (much better than our command of the German language) and are very helpful and thoughtful.

Location : about 15min walk from train station. Arriving in the evening in late Nov and it was difficult to find this hotel, took me about 30min to locate it.

Reception staff (Female at night, and male in the morning) were good, polite and attentive, they could speak simple English.

Room was very big even for 2A and 2C, but came with very simple design. Found door knot was lose and no remote control for the TV. Inform the nice lady and was given Remote on the spot (they kept the remote at the reception), she took down my feedback about the door knot and it was fixed the next day. I called that good service.

Breakfast was very good, with hams, cheese, bread, nice coffee etc...

WiFi was doggy, can't receive signal from my room (right at the end in 2nd floor), need to get out of the room to receive decent WiFi signal.

Generally satisfied but not really value for money, then again, Innsbruck hotels are not cheap, so this could be a good choice!
