Old town Innsbruck is a very nice place to visit. There are numerous shops, outdoor cafes and historical sites. It is easy to get around with a guide available at the local tourist information center. We enjoyed walking around for several hours. It helps to plan your visit of historical sites prior to getting to the city as many are tucked away and as you are walking they suddenly appear. We enjoyed Hof Kirche - a church built for the tomb of Maximilian I. Traffic was not heavy and getting into and out of the city was pretty easy. We were staying in a very small town high in the Alps. It was nice to spend some time in a more cosmopolitan environment.
