“convenient restaurant with surprising menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

I have eaten twice in the restaurant with a group and alone and was surprised on the second visit how the modern food style has great international variety and impression.

“The previous reviews are absolutely right”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We had stopovers in Innsbruck at the beginning and end of a ski-ing holiday. Chose Dengg for the first evening and enjoyed it so much that we booked for our return a week later.

The food is delicious and attractively presented. The waiting staff worked hard to explain - in English - the nature of each of the dishes on the menu - and the specials. On our first visit we chose the starters and soups (on our second we went for the desserts). My wife commends the fish dishes. I recommend the saddle of deer. The sorbets were brilliant; the creme brulee came with lots of theatre, but was slightly disappointing.

On our first visit (a Friday) the diners were mostly German-speaking. On our second visit (a Saturday) they were mostly English-speaking. An interesting observation but probably not significant.

“What a change”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Lunch break in Innsbruck, down from Seefeld. Saw the recommendation in a small UK travel guide and truth to tell wasn't expecting much different from the rather predictable Austrian cuisine. But knew things would be better on entering. A smallish place and not particularly extravagant, but a fine experience, and as other reviewers have commented, much lighter and more imaginative than other restaurants we tried on the trip. Would liked to have tried it in the evening. The cheeseboard did look good. Would go back.

“Unique in Innsbruck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We go to Cafe Dengg every year while skiing in Austria. The combination of food quality, atmosphere, and price is the best you can find, especially if your are looking for a break from the tradionally fat-laden Austrian food. The cooking here is lighter, much more subtle and refined, although not at the highest gourmet standard you will find at a few other restaurants in Innsbruck (at much higher prices). The Wiener Schniztel is among the best we have found anywhere.

“Great food in unique atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

We're here twice during our stay in Innsbruck. And both times we had an excellent food! Meat's so soft, mouth watering side dishes and a glass of good dry wine... Oh,we'll definitely visit the place again during our next trip to beautiful Innsbruck!
