“We'll be back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

We visited Mayrhofen with a uni ski trip in early December, arriving just as the first dumps of snow came. It's a really scenic and friendly place to visit, we spent the week tearing up knee deep pow in the day, and indulging in one or two (lol) bevvys every night.

We were there early season so the nightlife seemed a little quiet, but this probably ramps up into Christmas. Runs were uncrowded and lifts top notch (and often terrifyingly high). Ditch the trendy-euro skier crowd and find your own lines and you will be well rewarded. We're already planning our next trip.

Ohh, and make sure you go to the butcher shop across from the main lift station in town. Like every day. It's amazing.

“A ski dreamland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

We had the most wonderful time skiing in Mayrhofen and the surrounding mountains. We are fairly good skiiers (ski mostly red and blacks) and we didn't run out of slopes after skiing for an entire week! The slopes are upkept very nicely and are for the most part wide and comfortable.
The food on the slopes and off is much better than we had experienced in Italy. Try some gluwein (warm wine), but not enough to make you ski crooked.
The one mistake we made was going to the glacier when the weather was bad. It was -8 degrees and we couldn't see a thing!
We will definitely plan on coming back!

“Mayrhofen is a beautiful little town full of lovely resturents, and so many walks.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2011

Do go there in the summer as well as the winter, it is so scenic. The train ride to Jenbach on the steam train is great and the scenery is out of this world.
We stayed in the chalet Tirol. right in the centre of town.It was small and basic, but clean and the food was very good. The girls who ran it are thompson reps.as that is who we booked with. We went on severl trips , and they were all great. i enjoyed the day to Lake garda. so beautiful there.
I would recomend this place for a visit , and will certainly go back to Austria again.

“An Austrian delight.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2011

We have now visited Mayrhofen 5 times in 10 years and we have never been sorry.
Mayrhofen has plenty of activities and the most beautiful scenery. We advise purchasing a Ziller card which cost us 51 Euros for 6 days this card can be used on the local train and bus service as much as you want and also you can use it for 1 return journey each day on the cable cars.we use the train and bus and enjoy discovering the whole of the Zillertal valley. Innsbruck is a very nice place to visit and again using the train to the end of the valley with the card saves on the fair to Innsbruck.
