“Comfortable accommodation in Salzburg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

I do not have special remarks for this hotel. I have stayed there for business in October: the price was worth the service I got. Everything you need during a short visit abroad was in place. Salzburg itself is a very pretty small city: although the hotel is not located in the very center of the town, walking distance are not unbearable. Next to the hotel an excellent Italian restaurant, even if I suggest tasting local food, and a SPAR supermarket for fulfilling the room with water and other snacks.
Breakfast was also ok. WIFI speed depending on the time of the day, but reasonably reliable and fast.

Myself and my grown up son stayed here while on business in Salzburg for 2 nights in September 2013 and this is an excellent hotel for the money, stay in the middle of Salzburg and prices are astronomical, so we chose this hotel which is slightly on the edge, but still easily within walking distance of the "tourist town Salzburg"

The staff are excellent, nothing seemed to much problem, and they speak English so my German / Austrian was practiced but not needed to much, the rooms are excellent, both of us had nice size rooms without being overwhelmingly large, mine had a lovely balcony with a view of the castle and gardens

Of special note is the Italian Restaurant under the hotel, which I do suggest you will need to book a table as it is extremely popular, however if you are like us and staying in the hotel they will serve you in the hotel bar / breakfast room, which was lovely, the prices are so reasonable for Salzburg, if the restaurant was more central they could double their prices and still be full every night, we both had Pasta dishes which were amazingly good, probably even better tasting than most restaurants in Italy could ever hope to manage

When we need to return to Salzburg we will stay here again

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room

i've stayed in this hotel only for one night, but it was rather pleasant as it wasn't too distant from the center but had a nice and quite surroundings. On the other hand - rooms are rather small and the bed was too soft for me, but a long walk was tiring enough. price point was OK, even the restaurant in the hotel building was great for a great dinner.

I spent a few nights here. Strengths: (a) quiet location, (b) nice breakfast buffet in pleasant greenhouse setting, and (c) clean room. Weaknesses: (a) about a 15-minute walk to the old town (a city bus that went directly downtown stopped about 100 feet from the hotel but I never tried that), (b) bathroom was very small (even by European standards); there was just enough room for one person, and (c) the staff was not overly friendly or helpful.

The rooms were nice, clean, and roomy. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown - not far distance-wise but the neighborhood didn't have the "flavor" of Salzburg. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't take the breakfast option (I thought 10 Euros was waayy too expensive) but there was a supermarket about 5 minutes away by foot.

Clean! The key word here is clean. The rooms are nice, but small, no AC and for some reason inside is hotter than outside. Good food and friendly staff. Five minutes from the center, not a great location but with a car its not a problem. Very quiet and peaceful. If you are looking for a low key location that is your hotel. The problem is that there is not much around it, no stores, shops, stands, nothing. Just one gas station half a kilometer away.
Overall i would have to say that it doesnt wow you but its nice, especially in high season when the entire world is visiting the Salzburg summer opera festival. The internet connection is not that great so if you want to use it, just stay in lobby, cause its not stable at all on the upper floors. No fitness center. No SPA. Its not fancy, but there is something sincere about it. The thing that will leave you breathless however is the town it self, i couldnt imagin that there is such term as "too pretty" but Salzburg is just that. There are a lot of things you can say about the green areas in the city, but nothing can fully describe the beauty of it. Nature lovers will fall in love with the region. An absolute must see !!!
