Took a long weekend here in early February 2 kids 2 adults. Free Parking wasn't a problem in Hotel car park but I would guess it fills up quickly at busier times as its small enough. Check in was easy, friendly staff. Hotel lobby a bit aged and in need of a refresh which is weird as they have done up the rooms to a higher standard. Room was spacious with modern furniture and comfortable beds. Nespresso machine in room but you have to pay 1,50E per capsule, so only tea is free to have, no free instant coffee sachet alternatives.
Bathroom is fine but could also do with of a bit of a refresh (older style tiles and fitttings) but was clean and functional with underfloor heating, sensor tab was a bit odd in a non public bathroom but you got used to it.
Two tv's one in bedroom one in 'lounge' with DVD's available for free from reception (didnt try but guess good selection). One gripe for some may be that in this family room there is no door between bedroom and lounge (sofa bed) so once kids put to bed you have to be quiet and keep tv in bedroom off (lying on sofa bed you look straight into TV in bedroom). As many family rooms have all the beds in one room anyway its no big issue but when you actually have two separate rooms, having a door would be a nice bonus.
Room faced onto crossroads between two relatively busy roads but we didnt have any major traffic noise issues on second floor but maybe lower down or on other side of hotel with the busier road it might be a problem.
Breakfast was very standard fare in the restaurant, I would give it a 6-7 out of 10. Scrambled eggs and bacon for hot with range of meats, cheese, bread and cereals/yoghurt for cold choices. Didnt try the restaurant for dinner but it seems to serve standard Austrian fare, schnitzel, cordon bleu, etc
Location was ok, Salzburg is a quiet city and its a bit out of the centre, but you can walk into the city centre along the river in about 20 minutes and buses run just outside. In the immediate area there isnt much, although there is one highly rated italian restaurant a couple of blocks away, and the area itself is fine, not exclusive but not rundown. The associated Salzburger Hof Apartments are literally across the road from the hotel itself.
Overall a good enough price quality combo.
