OK it has been a few years already since I stayed at the Nonntal but unless things have drastically changed, I heartily recommend this place.
The one drawback is that it's not right in downtown Salzburg and we had to cab it or catch public transportation. That is the only reason I did not give five stars.
That being said, the inn had a view of the mountains in the back, had lovely and peaceful grounds and was located in a quiet part of town. It was a soul-soothing place.
Our room was quite large yet had all the cozy touches that made it great to come "home" to. The bathroom had all the modern necessities--not to mention fluffy towels---plus a skylight, and still had a rustic feel.
And the food was delicious and plentiful.
Unless you really want to be in the midst of the action in downtown Salzburg, you cannot go wrong with the Nonntal. I can't wait to stay there again.
