And i mean it! lol. seriously, this place is to die for if you love beautiful views (why would you be going to Salzburg in the first place if you don't right). imagine this, you wake up in the morning, open your window curtains and voila, the Untersberg mountain view greets you.
you go down and breakfast made; home-made apple strudel, cereals, home made jam (yes home made!) and bread! ham and cheese upon request.
Franziska and her husband were both very very nice! don't bother going to look for an information centre, there's one already in the house itself - Franziska! she could tell you all that you need to know. you can also borrow their bikes for a nice ride around the neighbourhood. and even though it was summer, we didn't feel warm at all during the night. i think it's because we were out of the city area (the air even felt more "breatheable"!) about mosquitoes, didn't have a problem coz there were mosquitoe nets placed behind every window. just keep your toilet door shut?
come on peepz, what's there not to like about this place? it's conveniently reachable by bus too. just get the salzburg card from Franziska.

This guesthouse has a lot going for it. Great hospitality. Nice views. Very good breakfasts. Reasonable rates. Unfortunately, I did not sleep well here because my room was infested with mosquitoes. Not a lot of them, but it only takes a few to keep you up.

I was the first time that me and my friends went to Salzburg. I have to say that the hosts were excellent and very friendly. She will make nice pastry for breakfast. She help us to book for the Sound of Music tour and taxi too.

The mountain view from our room is excellent. There is a very nice restaurant (Gasthof Reiterhof Moos) which is not very far from the accomodation, which serve very nice Austrian/German food. One of the best I ever had. The best way to go to the restaurant is to cycle there. The host will be able to loan bicycles for free.

I will definately come back again. Highly recommended.

We had an excellent stay. The rooms were good but the service was excellent. Franziska helped us book the Sound of Music tour as well as the Mozart dinner concert for the next day. We borrowed bikes and ride nearby and into town. Thank you so much Franziska!

Haus Reichl is located in an amazing spot. There was a 5-8 minute walk to the main street to pick up the bus which drove right into town in about 20 minutes. Maybe not ideal for some but amazingly quiet area and the view of the moutains... while eating a nice light breakfast outside ... awesome! We were fortunate to get a room with a balcony to sit out and soak in that pure, crisp mountain air.

We stayed at Haus Reichl Reiterweg Sept 13th, 14th and 15th, 2010 on our first ever trip to Bavaria. We can’t say enough about the hotel. If you want to be out of town a little with a quite atmosphere at a very reasonable price, this is it. We stayed on the 2nd floor in the back of the hotel. The room was very clean and large. The staff was very helpful and friendly, which really helped a couple of Americans new to Bavaria. The breakfast was very good as was the homemade apple juice. There were beautiful views around the hotel of the meadows and the mountains. We loved the town of Salzburg and our trip to Berchtesgaden and Hilter”s Eagles Nest. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was our second stay at Frau Reichl's--we actually had such a great experience the last time we went to Salzburg that we rearranged our itinerary so that we could be there when she had rooms free! Franziska is an exemplary hostess. She saw that my grandmother was having trouble walking and drove us down the driveway to the bus stop. My aunt and uncle asked her if she knew if the neighborhood cafe was open; not only did she call and ask but upon finding out that it was closed called around to other local restaurants to find one that was open and then drove my aunt and uncle there and back. She booked taxis for us and even brought my grandmother coffee one evening after she noticed that she looked peaked. She is a gem. I can't say enough good things about her B&B.

The rooms themselves are very clean and spacious. Breakfast is good. The only drawback is that it's a bit out of town, but there is a bus stop about a five minute or less walk from the house that takes you directly to the Altstadt. I actually prefer to be in the country more than the city so the distance out isn't a drawback for me but might be to some people. Buses are easy and cheap, as are taxis.
