“Good solid hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

The hotel is close to the railway station and therefore slightly out of the main tourist area although a regular bus service goes from the railway station into town. The cost is 3.30 euros for a day ticket.
The room was quite basic with a veranda and spotlessly clean.
The staff were all top class and very friendly.
We ate in the hotel restaurant/barista. The food was excellent and not expensive.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

As we were traveling by train, and wanted to stay at a hotel close to the train station so we selected Park Hotel. We walked from the train station to the hotel with no problems.

Park hotel is located in an inner city neighborhood, consisting of apartments/condos and small businesses. The front of Park Hotel is hidden by apartment/condo buildings and the back of the hotel has a garden and back of the garden is a side street and then more apartment/condo buildings. To get to Park Hotel you have to go down a drive way that is accessed by hotel guest and tenants of other buildings. In my view the hotel is insulated from street noise and train noise; our room faced the garden, and we heard no room, train or street noise. Just birds singing their greetings.

We stayed at the hotel five nights and had dinner at their restaurant 3 of the nights. The waitress helped us with our selections, we enjoyed our meals, and this is why we came back; surprisingly, I thought their bar/restaurant is a “locals” hangout, where people come after work to discuss the day’s events.

The morning breakfast was buffet style, with cook-to-order requests. The buffet had a cereals, fruits, hot foods, good coffee, teas, and excellent breads and pastries. The breakfast staff was friendly, greeting the guest as they came in and responding immediately to requests for special drinks or cook-to-order egg dishes.

The reception staff checked us in right away and provided us maps and they were always available to answer questions or help with constructive suggestions on sightseeing places.

We took one tour, the sound of music, with the tour company picking us up at the hotel and dropping us off a few blocks from the hotel.

The neighborhood is worth exploring, especially between the river and the hotel, houses and gardens are well cared for, and each garden seems to have its own unique character, and this neighborhood also has an excellent pup on the block paralleling the river. The pub is run by an older couple, and has an outside patio and inside seating. I fail to remember the pub’s name, but the pub is located in a middle of a residential block, and it is worth finding, as we thought it was the place to go after a long day of sightseeing.

We got to old town by walking along the river’s walkway; the walkway has many benches whereas old town has very few, and old town benches always seem to be occupied, so we simply planned on resting on a bench located on the walkway. We enjoyed these walks, even though there were many walkers and cyclist on the walkway, we had no problem finding an empty bench.

Our room was comfortable, clean, and had a small patio. We sleep soundly, and, when we were leaving, we wished we could stay a few more days.

Stay here you will not regret.

Room Tip: request a room facing the garden

Thank you Mrs. Gabriel, Mr. Krimbacher, Ms. Pfleger, Ms. Karahan, Mr. Sam and all other "good ghosts" visible and invisible working at this hotel and offering such a splendid, personal, warm atmosphere (and at prices which are very fair!).
The food was great, breakfast selection varied, seminar rooms wonderful, the little park is such an added benefit, and its location in walking distance to railway station and at a 10-15 stroll´s distance from old town is very inviting.
Clean rooms, nice people ... an all-over great value!

Room Tip: try to avoid thos rooms just above the terrace where - due to the strict anti-smoking laws - people...

There was a heatwave and no ac but the room at the back was pretty cool at night despite the heat, provided you left the door to balcony open. Some noise from bar guests in garden at night but not bad.Single room small but well equipped.Fridge provided on request. Good breakfast .Very near station and bus depot for travels around area.I was there for music festival.About 25 minutes walk along the river to the Opera.3 or 4 buss go there from bus station.Buy tickets for bus down elevator at bus terminus much cheaper.Great male receptionist very good advice on transport etc.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel during July 2012.

Location: Few blocks from the Central Railway Station and about 15 minutes from Mirabellplatz. Other tourist locations are further away. Free parking available. Since its in a residential neighborhood taxis/stores/restaurant/buses are by the railway station.

Room: We had a double room which was clean and spacious. Please be aware that there is NO air conditioning in any of the rooms. We would not have booked this hotel if we had known this. The 2 days we were in the Salzburg the temperature was 35C so it was quite uncomfortable without AC. Wifi worked well in the room.

Service: Staff was helpful with directions and recommendations for restaurants. We arrived at midnight and the room was available to us immediately.

Food: There is a restaurant in the hotel and excellent breakfast was included in the hotel price.

The main inconvenience for us was not having AC in the rooms. The fact that it was not centrally located was fine with us since we don't mind walking. Free parking and breakfast included is a big plus.

Dear travelNYC!

Thank you that you've taken the time and gave us your assessment about your stay at our hotel!

Please, let us explain why we don't have an air condition in our hotel: the reason is, that we have the Austrian eco-label! So we are committed to take note of a low energy consumption. For the next summer / future, we are working on a solution!

Your business is very important to us and we value your feedback. If I can be of assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to contact me at +43662454265-0.

We stayed for a couple of nights but wish we could have stayed more. The room was comfortable, and equipped with a safe and a mini-bar. As Salzburg can be visited on foot, the hotel is located only 10 blocks from Mirabelle Palace. It also has parking space for free, good for leaving the car behind. We also enjoyed twice the hotel's restaurant, with a buffet alternative: food was very good an the closest to a homemade meal we had during our holidays.

On arrival staff very helpful and friendly and continued to be so for the duration of our visit. The hotel is well run and nothing is to much trouble, although when you book it does not say tea & coffee is available in your room, but if you ask it will be provided free of charge. Room was clean and well decorated. Choice of breakfast is good, but a limited menu is served in the evening, but is good value for money. It's just out of the the main area but a short walk to the bus and train station (2.30 euros to the centre) the advantage we found was you are away from the hustle and bustle. Car parking is free

Room Tip: We booked a junior suite, which had a double balcony and ample room.
