We had the joy of staying in Salzburg for 2 nights in April, 2006. The hotel was a little far from most of the big attractions (about a 10 minute walk), but not too bad. There is a nice grocery store nearby. Our bedroom was decorated in lovely Austrian colours/style, overlooking a nice quiet courtyard. Breakfast was large with a good variety. Our room was clean and very spacious. About a 5-7 minute walk from the train station. Everyone spoke English quite well, and the "language barrier" really wasn't an issue anywhere we went. The Sound of Music tour was GREAT ~ you get to see the lake districts and have a nice ride on a big bus! If you're not into walking a lot, you'd better find a hotel that's on the other side of the river (the opposite side from the train station).

We stayed here last month for the two days we were in Salzburg.There is one sex shop across the street(which of course we took a humourous photo of!!) but everything else seemed quite residential and the short walk to the city centre was very convenient. The staff and owners were pleasant and helpful.Our room was very clean and comfortable and looked exactly like one of the pics shown on their web site.The breakfast room appeared quaint and the buffet had the usual offerings.Our "toilet" room had an odour of urine that we wished would have gone away!Credit cards are not accepted so be sure to have enough cash! There is an expensive laundomat nearby, which we used.The rooms are simple but as we were out seeing the sites most of the day,we did not mind.There is also an internet phone shop across the street from which we made many phone calls with our 5.00 Euro phone card!!The pension suited our purposes and we would reccommend it to others.

Fortunately we only stayed one night at this pension. Although it was conveniently located close to the train station, it was either a bus ride or about a 20 minute walk to the old town. It is located in an area that was undesirable (with sex shops across the street). As for the rooms, the pictures they show on their web site is definitely dated. It was a simple pension, but smelled musty. The water pressure was definitely a problem and there was no soap or shampoo provided in the shower.
