“Only half of what you need”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

This place is like a prison block. The location is good but the place is made of concrete with no fans, airconditioning or even windows that open further than a couple of inches. Fine if travelling in the cooler months but horrible if travelling in Summer. Hotel is also a little confusing to find at first and considering how basic it is, its actually quite expensive.

Staff were friendly enough but ended up costing us extra money in parking as you cannot park of site and they charged us for the secure parking and then we still had to pay again when we left the carpark and couldnt then get a refund from the hotel, very confusing and frustrating.

The breakfast was ok, the wifi was useless anywhere other than the reception area.

Room Tip: No such thing as a good room. Do not stay here in Summer.

AllYouNeed was a great choice for us in Salzburg.

Salzburg seemed more pricy than other cities we stayed, so while this was the highest per night on our trip, it was worth it. The hotel is very new, with a room set-up similar to the States. It is located on a secluded street and smashes up to a mountain, but thru a little walkway, you can reach a busy road with restaurants and more, and a very short walk to the main tourist area. I was amazed at how it could be so convenient and quiet at the same time.

The staff was very helpful, and had good suggestions for breweries/restaurants. They also kept the room very clean, and served the biggest breakfast on our entire vacation (included in price).

We only stayed one night, but really enjoyed it. Salzburg is smaller, so we felt 2 days to check it out was enough time for us in that city. It is beautiful and someplace I would love to see over Christmas.

Note: There are so many churches that when their bells go off around 7 or 8am, you will be woken up.

Great location walking distance to the old city, which is a huge plus (especially during the Salzburg Festival in August, there are not many rooms to choose from here). The place is a nice college dormitory (private rooms and bathrooms) that converts to this hotel in the summer. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It really is "all you need," but it can be loud because the halls echo and the auto-closing doors slam (but you should be traveling with earplugs anyway!). And like any room in the old town, when you leave your windows open you will hear people talking and driving and the bells of the old churches at 6am. But it's nice that this hotel is on a side street. And it's not hard to find...just ask a cab driver! There is wired internet in the rooms and wifi in the lobby. A nice breakfast buffet. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: They are all on the same side of the building so you don't have much of a choice.

We had SO much trouble locating this hotel. So if you do decide to stay here, you will turn right at the garage at the end of the street, THROUGH the courtyard to the last place on the right. The tiny sign is very misleading, as it says "Hotel Salzburg", not "All You Need Hotel". When we finally found it, our room was unavailable for check in. It was so very hot, and there was no air conditioning. The very kind desk clerk let us check our luggage and allowed us to freshen up in the lobby restroom, so we could be on time for the Sound of Music Tour. We were able to walk to that location from the hotel. There are a few other eating establishments nearby this place. There is no wi fi, except in the lobby. On the upside, it is near the bus stop. The breakfast, and the breakfast area are very good. I would not however, recommend staying here, unless you are happy with a low price budget hotel for "almost all you need."

Room Tip: We stayed during the week, and it was not too noisy, however others have complained about it. Ask t...

Close to city location and budget priced hotel. Food excellant value, good choice and range for breakfast.
Rooms clean and adequate.

Down sides - noise! Unsophisticated single glazed windows meant anything going on either in or outside of the hotel was echoed inside.
Wifi, only available in reception! Why not have boosters around the hotel? It would prevent everyone sat around in the reception vying for seats!
Car park - only 4 spaces. There was plenty of space around the hotel, come on invest in more space to allow guests to park!

Walk easily to sites. Truly all you need. Good value and location. Big breakfast buffet, but try to be early. Desk staff very helpful and pleasant. Drove up to amazing lookout for astonishing view of alps and the city. Walking distance of 10 minutes from the old center of Salzburg and castle.
