“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of May during our short time in Salzburg. The reception staff was very friendly and it is a welcoming lounge area. Continental breakfast offered a variety of food and drink, the room was clean and the bathroom was very nice. It is a short walk, maybe 5-10 minutes, to the old town area, a perfect distance so it wasn't very noisy at night and restaurants and shops on the way there. Free Wi-Fi and they had a safe in the room for valuables. Would definitely recommend to others.

We stayed here on a last minute trip, we didn't have time to find a dog sitter, so we had to bring our 2 medium/Large dogs with us. Usually we are hesitant staying in dog friendly hotels, but this time we were blown away by how clean and fresh and new the room was. They had Faux wood tiled floors, a very modern and large shower and bathroom, the beds were 2 separated twin beds but we just pushed them together at night.
We found the location to be ideal as it is about a 1/2 block from the pedestrian zone headed to the river where the main city is. There are at least 20 restaurants to choose from, plenty of shopping and even a very affordable little grocery store right across the street. We felt right at home here and loved the convenience of the location. The only downside is it did get a little loud here at night and the walls were thin and we had rude neighbors in the hotel that continuously kept going from each others rooms and knocking loudly on the doors next to us at 1 am (and dogs hearing a knock on the door in the middle of the night is not fun)
The Breakfast was very nice! they had a variety of juices, 2 coffee machines that made everything from hot chocolate to cappuccino's, eggs, breads, yogurts, cereals, pastries, and meats and cheeses. We were very impressed with the breakfast.
The only downside of our room was that we could only use WiFi in the lobby as our room was no within the signal area.
They also have a small gated parking lot for 15E a day and that was very convenient as parking was an issue in the area we were in, but you had to be buzzed into it every time you came or went from the hotel.
Overall we would absolutely book a rom here again. the staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms were more 4 star quality, the location was perfect and the price was unbeatable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with WiFi and Away from the street.

location is quite OK for the money you pay ( it goes without saying that good location costs extra), a little bit aside, just 15-20 walk from the center. breakfast is good and totally matches 3-star hotel. our room was cozy and surprisingly very clean. however, what it lacks is a fridge and towels rails in the bathroom.

Room Tip: rooms on the upper level with windows looking out to the street and mountain Kapuzinenberg seems to...

Very good location at the start of the pedestrian area.
Breakfast decent.
Wifi worked a treat in the room and lobby.
Clean, clean.
Friendly staff.
The only complain I would have is that we had a room facing the main street which made for a noisy night from busses and cars to drunk people shouting at the top of their voice. Not the hotels fault obviously, so ask for a room facing the inner courtyard.

Spent 1 night at the Hofwirt booking directly with the hotel at an excellent price including breakfast.
Upon our arrival we asked the friendly receptionist if we could book an afternoon tour to the Alps and she efficiently booked our tour with Panorama Tours and they picked us up at the hotel. Lovely tour and a great guide. Definitely recommend.
Nice room, not too big, but enough for a 2 or 3 night stay. Totally renovated, great bathrooms, good heating (it was -5 outside) and fast wi-fi. Modern and simple decor serving a very good breakfast with a wide variety.
The Schallmooser Strasse leads you across the river into the old town (not even a 10 min. walk), therefore great location close to most of the tourist tattractions. Pleanty of restaurants and supermarkets close by.
If you're looking for a good value, clean and confortable with friendly and helpful staff, there's no need to look and further.

Room Tip: Although we had no problem with any noise in March, the hotel is on a busy street, so during high se...

I selected this hotel based on the reviews, price and breakfast. If you are looking for a clean hotel, in a great location, with breakfast included, then this is the hotel for you. I would not describe this hotel as luxurious (I don't think that is the intention of the hotel) but the rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and the price was right! We would stay there again.

so where to start.... this was the first stop for our holiday.... and surprised as we where....

enter salzburg and it was covered with cotton all around... snowing like anything.... and then the hotel was so pleasantly located so as to give a view of the mountains on one side and conveniently located so as to take a stroll where ever you wish to go.... Just a few yards away from this hotel starts the pedestrian area which takes you through the lovely alleys and down to the old salzburg town....

the hotel didnot have much of a room service but the lady at the reception was very helpful in giving advice on things to do in sazburg and at the same time guiding you to some of the good restaurants in vicinity and making bookings for the must do's...

All in all a worthy place to stay...
