Really not sure how to review this place! I'll start with the good points. The room was spacious and quiet (so long as the window was closed) and the general decor throughout the hotel is good. The reception staff couldn't have been nicer, the breakfast is adequate and the mini-bar reasonably priced. It's an easy walk to the main sites and shopping areas but far enough away from the bulk of the tourists to give the hotel a peaceful air, despite the busy road outside. There's also a bus stop just a block away where you can catch the number 4 bus across to the Old Town if you don't fancy the 10 minute walk; this bus also takes you to the Mirabellplatz stop where you can connect to the buses taking you to the Airport, train station, Hangar 7 (all bus number 2), the Zoo, Hellbrun Palace and the Untersberg cable car (all bus number 25).
BUT! As previous reviewers have mentioned, the shower stall really is
tiny - combine this with the fact that you have to hold the shower head to wash and it's not a relaxing experience. The space around the
toilet is quite tight too. Also, although I can generally sleep anywhere the bed was rather hard and I don't think I had a proper nights sleep the whole time I was there. These points might seem minor but they really did have an impact on my stay; although I booked the hotel as a 2-star (it's rated as a 4-star on many booking sites) I was still disappointed.
