“Can't ask for much more...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2011

Oh, how I just loved this place.

I was visiting my boyfriend in Munich for a week and we planned a somewhat spur of the moment trip to Salzburg. He booked a room here after doing a bit of research and scored a nice deal.

Upon arrival, we were pleased to find out the location was very central. While Salzburg is a small city, it was conveniently close to the train station we arrived in and the tourist sights while still being in a peaceful and quiet location away from the crowds.

This hotel to me represents just about the best of what a true boutique hotel should be. Intimate, personalized, comfortable, excellent service, but without being self-consciously trendy.

Our room was spacious, with a great selection of toiletries, spacious and modern (but no so much that you wondered how the hell to flush the toilet!) bathroom and comfy bed with a heavenly duvet.

Front desk (as well as all staff) was warm, friendly and helpful.

Now here is what makes this place such an exceptional dea:

The spa/sauna is a MUST. My boyfriend and I spent some time in the sauna that evening then went out on the balcony to enjoy the lovely view of mountains, gardens, and a few decadently appointed Salzburg apartments that never seemed to have their blinds drawn...

The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good and varied.

Good wi-fi.

And the above three are FREE. No, really! All of the above are included in the price of the stay, when generally hotels, especially boutique hotels will try to nickel and dime their guests any which way they can.

A lovely place all around and it would be a pleasure to return.

Room Tip: Best deal found direct on hotel website.

This is a wonderful place. All the furnishings were of beautiful materials: real wood floors, lovely linen curtains...

Our room looked out on the street and was very noisy from morning until evening. Luckily the traffic noise died down when we were sleeping. Breakfast was marvelous and included lattes and cappucinos! The internet signal was strong in the restaurant and in the garden, but too weak from the room for me to pick up my email. Bathroom was small but very clean and modern. We're always trying to avoid the hotels decorated with yards and yards of sometimes shabby and frequently dusty fabrics. The aesthetic here was modern and spare, and we loved it.

We appreciated that we could park next to the hotel, and we didn't mind the 15 minute walk to the historic center of town. We were also pleasantly surprised that just two short blocks away was Linzer Gasse, a picturesque street with plenty of restaurants and shops to enjoy.

Although it was a family friendly hotel, I would still recommend it to my childless friends. The few children who were there were extremely well behaved and quiet.

The hotel is very good, clean and most of the staff is friendly. The worst about the hotel is the location. It is close enough to walk to the centre of Salzburg but it takes around 15 minutes walking. Breakfast is amazing with quality product. Definitely a great hotel to stay for a short break to Salzburg. Free wireless internet is availble in the rooms.

This was our first hotel of our first European trip and we were a little spoiled! Our room was awesome, clean and very spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was awesome, best of our trip. Our only complaint was the $10/day to park in the lot next to the hotel or try to find a street spot, which was tough. Overall a great hotel, close to the old town. It looks like from some of the photos all the rooms might be a bit different?

Stayed from 16th of March - 23th of March at Auersperg. From Day one we felt like prominent guests. Reception, Breakfastroom, Bar, the Ladies making the Rooms, yes, everyone made us feel at home. It´s the best hotel we have ever visited. We are looking forward to come back again. We had some rainy days under our stay in Salzburg, but after a long walk in Salzburgs romantic alleys knowing that we had our little "zu hause" was wonderful.
Are now back in Sweden and will have all our memories in mind for a long time.

My wife and I arrived in this beautiful mountain town of Salzburg, Austria on our anniversary. Upon check in to the Hotel Auersperg we found our room prepared with a bottle of champagne on ice, Bavarian chocolates and a handwritten note from the staff offering congratulations on our wedding anniversary.
The rooms in the villa-side of the hotel are the perfect layout. A nice sitting area, open bathroom with heated floors, walk-in closet and a very comfortable bed. The hotel has a rooftop spa area with steam room, sauna and sitting area for you to enjoy the mountain views.
All of this within a short walk of old town and all of the nearby castles and restaurants.
Oh yeah, when we came home from our dinner in town, our room was prepared with two pieces of anniversary cake, candles and rose petals!

This is our second time staying at the Villa Auersperg, we first stayed in 2003. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was from a good selection. The staff were polite and very helpful. The location was great, just a 5 minute walk from the main bridge over the river leading to the old town and the Christmas markets and main attractions. On both occasions there was nothing negative we could say about this hotel and villa. We would love to go back some time.
