“Felt like home with your own family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

It has become our custom to stay at the Bristol Salzburg hotel for its unbeatable location, unparlleled quality of service and the outstanding professionalism of their staff. You honestly cannot fault it from the cleanliness, to the amenities, to the lavish breakfast, the cozy bar, the large rooms especially by European standards, and especially the smiles that greet you going in and out. It is simply the best and justifiably so. This year, they have surpassed all our expectations. Respecting our wish for a room close to the elevator for the sake of my elderly mother, they chose a huge one right opposite the elevator and overlooking the lovely platz (the same one we had last year, again to accomodate my mother). It did not stop at that: the staff from the gentlemen who help us with the luggage, to the reception desk, to those working at the bar and the breakfast room, were all smiles, welcoming us by name as old friends. They made us feel so much at home. My mother suffered from a severe ear infection while we were there and had to be rushed to hospital twice. They were extremely attentive, going out of their way to help us locate English speaking doctors, directing us to where the hospitals are, pinpointing the pharmacies that work on weekends, rushing with ice packs when we requested them to help with the fever, and simply being extremely kind and warm. On our return from the hospital, each time, every staff member asked about my mother and her health and inquired how he/she could be of help. When you are away from home, and with a sick family member, such warmth and kindness is much more appreciated. Our loyalty to the Bristol is unquestionable - we will always go back and definitely encourage all of our friends to do the same.

Fantastic beautiful hotel. We stayed the night there on July 16th and the hotel is beautiful. Walking distance to the Town Square where Mozart's birthplace and the commercial district is. The Concierge was fantastic because we were stuck for time and had to get back to Prague the next day to fly out and she did all the work for us to get a Train trip back for us and wrote it all down. All we had to do was go to the Station and pay for our tickets. The Bell boys were excellent and we always tip a Euro or two and it was worth. Beautiful classic rooms with Bidets. Very old style but luxurious. The Breakfast was superb with smoked salmon and fantastic breads and the Sri Lankan waitress was superb in her attention to service. We loved it and only had one night but they Front office knew our names by that evening. Considering that there was a large OYO group and we were sort of part of it they had all our rooms ready when we descended on them around 1:00pm.. I think the Concierge works until 10:00pm and comes back at 7:00am. Even though she was extremely busy she was so helpful to us with our train reservations. Without that we would not have made it back to Prague to catch our flight. I think her name was Kristine?

I wish I remembered the Sri lankan Austrian lady's name.

Room Tip: I am not sure but our room came with a Bidet

The service at the Bristol Hotel was truly 5 star! The front desk staff was wonderful, very warm and extremely helpful. They had distilled water waiting for us upon check in, as requested by prior email, for my husband's Cpap machine. By the second time we walked past the desk they knew us by name. We had 2 rooms a few doors apart as we requested close by. They were knowledgable about restaurants, Salzburg card and booking a Mozart Dinner concert. The hotel is in a great location other than the church bells going off very loudly starting at 7 am. The service and the staff truly make this a 5 star experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the Square

The hotel is centrally located, just across the bridge to Old Town. Across the square is Mozart's Residence (not to be confused with Mozart's birthplace). Just behind the hotel is Mirabell Palace Gardens. The staff is phenomenal. We arranged with the concierge for tickets to a concert nearby. We asked her advice if we should eat at the hotel's restaurant before or after the concert. She said, "whatever you prefer". Our concern was the concert may run late and the restaurant stopped serving at 10PM. She said that particular event usually ended at 9:30 so there would be no problem, but the dining room would be available for us. The concert ended at 10PM so we rushed back to the hotel and thought maybe we would just get a light snack at the bar since we were late. As we walked into the lobby, the front desk greeted us by name, the head waiter and his staff were extremely warm to us and could not have calmed our concerns any more. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The bartender, doormen, housekeeping, front desk, breakfast ladies are all very professional but warm and accommodating as well. Ten stars!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Bouquet Suite-gorgeous! The bathroom is awesome.

We stayed several nights while touring in and around Salzburg. It's a lovely place: comfortable, well appointed, centrally located right by the bridge to Old Town, but what really sets this hotel apart is the level of service from each and every employee. The concierge, Christine, deserves special notice. She was unfailingly polite, helpful, and efficient. Wonderful breakfast buffet to start your day, and relaxing lounge to end your evening. We had plenty of rain, so it was just great to curl up on the comfy couches in the lounge at the end of a long day. We'd love to return, sooner than later!

My wife and I stayed here for one evening during our European vacation, and this was one of the nicest hotels we stayed in. The lobby was beautifully decorated and the desk staff were very pleasant and attentive. In addition, they took the time to point out some local attractions and recommend a good place for lunch. Lastly, a staff member escorted us to the room to point out the features of the room, location of items, etc. The room was well appointed, with a large bathroom and a balcony overlooking the square below and the Mozart Residence, a beautiful view of the city. Our room included a breakfast buffet, which was well above average and served in a well decorated dining room. The bar looked very nice and had a lot of comfortable lounge style seating (oversized chairs and sofas, etc). I would recommend staying at this hotel and would definitely book again the next time I am in Salzburg.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor overlooking the plaza for a great view.
