“Nice Hotel, exceptionally helpful staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

The hotel is nicely furnished and our room had a great view. The only negative thing is that the heater wasn't heating our room properly, although the temperature outside was below zero. It is about 10 minutes away from the train station and it is about 5 minutes away from the city centre. Rene, the concierge was great, he was very helpful and nice. We did not have breakfast in the hotel so I cannot comment on that. I would recommend it to anyone.

We had a nicely furnished, clean room. The staff at the hotel was polite and helpful. The hotel was within easy walking distance of the Old Town. A continental b'fast was included.I can recommend this place to every traveller and would stay there again

Room Tip: A good place to eat in the Old Town is the Old Fox.

The Hotel Mozart ticked almost every box for us in Salzburg - it is located in the new town, so is much better value than the hotels in the old town, yet it is only 5 to 10 minutes walk away from that old town; the breakfast was very good; the front desk staff were very welcoming and always happy to advise and make restaurant bookings; the rooms were clean and well fitted out.
If anyone from the hotel is reading this, I would just ask for two small additions - a PC on the ground floor, for easy internet access and facilities in the room for making coffee and tea. However, we wouldn't hesitate to go back to this hotel !

This was a great hotel to stay in. It was clean, comfortable and in a great location! Rene the concierge was great too! He was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! After suggesting a restaurant, he would go out of his way to call the restaurant and set up a reservation for you so there would be a table ready by the time you arrived. Great customer service! The internet didn't work well on the higher floors but it worked great in the parlor area so it wasn't a problem. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in room 502 with view over city to snow tipped mountain. There is an adequate lift for a hotel this size. The bathroom was spotless and is newly fitted out with a good modern shower that actually indicates hot and cold water. The room is sunny and inviting with light coloured timber floors, wardrobe, shelf for luggage, desk, chairs, small fridge and comfortable bed.

This was our 18th night in a European hotel and most are hot, stuffy and often smelly. This hotel stands out with fresh clean smell and comfortable temperature. Breakfast was perfect. Fresh fruit, juice, cereals, breads, pasties, cheeses, hams, hard boiled eggs, local cakes, good coffee or tea served by a very pleasant lady in a cheerful room. The staff were all helpful and friendly giving us advice on train times, restaurants and sight seeing. This place is a gem!

Easy walk from the train station to this mid-sized hotel. Lovely reception area and very helpful English-speaking staff. Room was clean and a good size for two people. The bathroom was newly renovated with a fair sized walk-in shower. Very easy walk to the old town. Helpful suggestions from staff about where to eat as well. Breakfasts smelled wonderful, but we opted to walk into town and grab a coffee there instead.

Room Tip: Elevator is very small. Ask for a lower room floor if you're travelling with lots of luggage...

The service was very professional. The staff spoke fluent English (Arthur was particularly friendly and helpful), and they provided us with a very nice map on which were marked the restaurants that they recommended around town. In addition, our room was nice and quiet, the decor very tasteful, and there was a good range of food for breakfast. They also kindly presented us with a very nice CD of Mozart's music when we left. The only disappointments were that their wifi was down (and there were no alternatives close by - although Arthur did his best to try to find one), the glass sheet in the bathroom did little to contain the spray from the shower, and although you can walk to a number of attractions, the area around the hotel in not particularly interesting. Although on our next visit we might consider staying in the very quaint Altstadt (cost? noise?), we would stay at the Hotel Mozart again without hesitation.
