Well, I am somewhat surprised at the reviews more favourable than mine. I agree the staff were excellent and the breakfast more than adequate, but I thought it an expensive hotel for the standard of the room. I was thankful that I hadn't taken the cat, because there was certainly no room to whip it. I got a little grumpy negotiating my way around the bed. I loved the fact that there was a bath and a decent sized bathroom, but no pull out line for the washed unmentionables was a shame. Maybe Salzburg is expensive to stay in, but our hotel in Vienna offered far more for a great deal less. The room was stiflingly hot, but the fan provided went a long way to help us sleep. The hotel can't help the weather!
Perhaps because the music festival was on meant we had to pay more.
The location is good as everything is within easy walking distance. I absolutely loved my time in that fine city. The castle is fantastic, so is the mountains and lakes tour we booked through the hotel.
