“Good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

The hotel is in a very nice street, about 10 min walk to the city center. The rooms are nice, modern and the bathroom generous. They have parking for a charge as well s a restaurant.

Stayed 4 nights with friends. The hotel is in an excellent location, just a short walk to the river and then over to the old city. There is a gentle slope down to the river. There are a miriad of restaurants and bars all over the city, so eating at the hotel is not necessary. The room was perfectly spacious and the bed was comfortable. The A/C was set on auto but you could adjust it to your own needs. The only slight problem we had was the electronic key card stopped working several times. Luckily, we had two so one was usually working. Staff at reception were very helpful. Room was cleaned and beds made every day. Public transport to St.Gilgen is just around the corner (150 bus). A cable car trip up the Zwolferhorn is a must!
There is a sauna, which we did not use.

We stayed here for five nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great location in the new town, no more than ten minutes walk to the old town. It is clean, modern and comfortable which is exactly what we needed to enjoy a city break in Salzburg.

We were staying at NH hotel during our two day trip to Salzburg in June. In general the hotel was good except for some things that a little bit spoiled our impression of it. But let me first say about the good ones! The first advantage is its location. The hotel is situated in the New Town and it’s about 15 minute stroll along a beautiful Linzer Gasse to the Old Town center. The staff at the reception is friendly and ready to help. We had a street room view with a little bit of Kapuzinerberg view. The room was quite spacious, with all necessary facilities except for tea/coffee-making ones. Sound insulation of the room unfortunately leaves much to be desired – you can hear every car going by plus there was some loud music after 12 a.m. that seemed to come from the neighbors. The reception staff was trying to solve the problem but couldn’t, saying that they don’t know were the noise comes from. Seems to be very strange, because the noise couldn’t appear just from nowhere. Some time later the music became lower but for about half an hour we were “enjoying” some Indian tunes instead of sleeping.

What negatively impressed me most of all was the breakfast. We came for breakfast at about 9 a.m. and it was really very difficult to find a place not because of many people but because of plenty of dirty dishes on the tables. And no one cared to take it away. The newcomers had to replace the dirty plates and cups to the near standing tables to be able to sit down. In the picture attached you can see all this mess yourself. Hope this was an exceptional case, as maybe all waitresses had day-off or were on maternity leave :).The coffee was the worst one I’ve ever tried in Austria what was quite strange as Austria can boast excellent ways of making coffee.

Wi-fi is free, but only in the lobby, in case you would like to have it in your room you’ll have to pay.

If all the negative things I’ve mentioned above could have been eliminated I would quite recommend the hotel.

But more strongly I would recommend to visit this wonderful and amazing town where the Genius was born! ))))))

We stayed here for 4 nights earlier this month. Our room was clean and cosy and the hotel is in a good location, less than 10 minutes walk from the Old Town and Mirabelle Gardens. The staff were efficient, if a little frosty at times.
Main advice about this would be not to use the restaurant, the food was mediocre at best. Not expensive but still not worth it! Although, the service in the restaurant was friendlier than we received at reception.

We stayed here for only one night, but had a wonderful experience. The hotel is quite modern and very clean and has a nice feel to it immediately when you walk in the door. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, also. We got a room with two twin beds and a pull out couch. This worked out very well since we had three people. It wasn't a cot, but a sofa chair which pulled out into a bed. Perfect! The room was a nice size (especially for Europe) and so was the bathroom. Wifi was free in the lobby which was nice.

Our room came with the breakfast buffet which was very, very good! I don't know if we would have spent 16 euros had it not been included, but they had everything you could ever want on the buffet.

The hotel held our luggage for us after we checked out and since we were going on a tour. This was a nice convenience and we trusted that our belongings were safe with this hotel. I will most definitely stay here again if in Salzburg. BTW, all of my experiences with NH Hotels have been great!

For around $80, this hotel was really difficult to beat. Convenient to the train and the main sights. Room was maybe a little on the small side, but I would absolutely return.

Breakfast was also very good and included in our rate.
