“If You Come to Salzburg & Don't Come Here - Shame On You!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

It's a simple plaza without much to recommend it - except the statue of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, arguably the greatest composer of all time!
Plus there's a great Tourist Information center right there too!

“Its history allright”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Indeed a milestone and a place to visit while in the area of Salzburg, if you're looking for something more than parks and malls.
Its an elegant memorial to Mozart, not flashy or grandiose - just about right.

“Simple square, useful as a landmark”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Named after the great himself, it's perhaps no surprise that this simple square is marked with a memorial to Mozart that was unveiled in 1842. While not as flashy or beautiful as other well-known squares in Europe, it's difficult to avoid passing through it on the way to and from other attractions in Salzburg. My favourite way of reaching Mozartplatz is from the north bank of the River Salzach across the Mozartsteg bridge. Look out for a plaque on the wall of one of the houses bordering Mozartplatz where Wolfgang's wife, Constanze, lived till her death. More prominent around the square is the Salzburg Museum. Connecting to the square is the Residentplatz where you can visit the Salzburg Cathedral.

“Great Square”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

A perfect square (not the shape) with food and shops around. Good location close to a lot of different things. Have to go and see this.
