The Crowne Plaza isn't historic, or located in the historic district, but it's still a pretty good deal in Salzburg. We paid about $277 for a room in July, considerably less than a lot of other hotels were charging. The room was was pleasant and well-equipped, typical of a Holiday Inn Express. The air conditioning didn't work very well, which was a big shortcoming. The swimming pool was small and not worth much. But the staff was helpful, food in the beer garden was very good, and you're only two blocks from a bus stop. It's a stiff walk to the old town or the train station.
