“Favorite Hotel We Stayed At”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

We stayed at this hotel just last week for two days. After 10 days or so this was my favorite place. The location was quite central. The front desk was always friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed all the little extras like the sleep aromatherapy. We had a bathtub which is so nice after a day of walking. We didn't eat the breakfast due to the price but found a great little coffee house cafe across the street where we hate breakfast, dinner and just late night drinks to unwind. We couldn't have asked for much more. We did think the 12 euro wifi fee for the room was a bit steep but they provided a computer with internet in the lobby and also had a business center we used so it didn't really affect us. Overall it was a good price for a nice place in Salzburg.

We stayed in this hotel in December 2012 for a long weekend, we found it very central with the centre of town being just a ten min walk. The hotel itself was very clean and we did stay in most nights after being out all day and the food was very good, we found drinks in the bar a little on the height side but then most hotels are the same. We found the staff very helpfully and friendly and they all spoke good English. Little tip make sure when you go out you take you warm coat, even if its nice when you leave the hotel as soon as the sun drops so does the tempiture. Would we stay here again....Yes !

We originally booked a room at the Best Western however they upgraded us to this hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great location - close to train station and the heart of Salzburg. Only complaint is the air didn't work properly.

in the heart of salzburg ,you don't need nothing more for your stay.everything is in a short walk away.
Very good stuff, room service excellent, the rooms are very cosy decorated and quiet.
You can explore salzburg by foot ,without extra taxi charges, in a very pleasant location.
there are many pubs and restaurants near hotel and the river is in a short walk away.
It was a very good choice for our short stay in salzburg

This is hotel is a 10 minute walk from the centre / old town and I found my stay to be truly fantastic.

If you like contemporary decor then book some somewhere else this hotel is old and is decorated and furnished to reflect the nostalgia of a by gone year.

From the moment I arrived the staff were attentive, knowlegable and friendly. My room was upgraded to a junior suit (a great room for any occasion) and I was also provided with free WIFI as a priority club member (this will the case for all guests from July 2013).

Things to note (but to be honest did not bother me) was the car park is 200 meters away, the hotal bar is a smoking bar the health club / gym is small.

There are several options for dining and I only tried the 'Pitter Keller' and the ambience, service and food was fantastic - not to mention the beer!

Thanks to all the staff - A great stay

Room Tip: Join Priority Club - you may get upgraded but if you dont its still a great stay. Also regardless o...

The location is very good, just 5 minutes walk from Salzburg HBF train station. The rooms are clean and reasonable (though old). The TV in the room was old Philips tube type (anyway that was not too important as we were mostly out of the room). The breakfast was good. We did not use the restuarant for dinner as there was an excellent Asian (Chinese) buffet restuarant just across the door which was also quite reasonably priced. The lifts are rather samll and two people will hardly fit with luggage. The lifts are also busy in the morning when people are checking out. The heating in the rooms are good.

Room Tip: Room on floors 1 or 2 are preferred because one can just take the stairs rather than wait for lifts...

Dear Raza Yasin,

thank you so much for your wonderful feedback.
A little too late but still good news! We will receive our new flat TV's by mid july. Still this hotel is one of the most tradiational ones in Salzburg, built in 1864 so it will always keep a traditional touch but we hope that you liked this also despide the little outdated TV sets...=D
We hope to have you back once in Salzburg and welcome you again at the "Pitter"
Warm regards, Martin Gissel - General Manager

Friendly and helpful receptionists and porter - nothing any bother. Room great (upgrade to junior suite having been offered,it being our anniversary) including good free wi-fi. Breakfast very good, as were meals and service in Pitter Keller. Comfortable bar allowing smoking a great comfort in snowy weather, yet not abused.
Though pool was small, the swim was enjoyable, as was the sauna.
Requested check- out was early, at 11, but allowed us free extension to 2 p.m.

Distance from centre - walking 20 minutes as much as older people might want, but buses stop near door.

Dear PaddyWhacked36,

thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! It is good to read that you really enjoyed your stay with us. Yes indeed the pool is small and we try to communicate everywhere that this is only a relax pool. But some web-pages and agencies just offer to put swimmingpool "yes" or "no".
We hope that you will ones come back to Salzburg!. Warm regards, Martin Gissel - General Manager
