This is a standard "international chain" kind of hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and in very good condition but with average decoration. Great selection of pastry, hams, omelette and coffees in breakfast, which is served in an elegant room overlooking the Mirabell Gardens. The small bar is located near the lobby- average drinks, no music. We found the location quite inconvient- no problem during the day (very pleasant walk to the town) but we had to use a taxi to return back from the city in the evening, as walking for 15 minutes in -3 C was no pleasant at all! The staff was always polite and attentive.

In general this is a very good hotel but of no character. If you travel with a group of travellers of mature age this would be a nice choice. If you are an independent young traveller, I recommend searching for something else.

One of my girlfriends and I stayed here Oct 8-9. Clean, quiet, good sized room overlooking the gardens. Nondescript décor, but comfortable. Bathroom clean and well-lit. The hotel staff is uniformly professional and helpful. The location is great--adjacent to the Mirabel gardens and a reasonably short walk to the old center. Would definitely stay here again. This hotel is part of the Starwood group, so if you join spg.com, you have a chance at getting a free room upgrade.

“Good location, great hotel”

I spent 3 nights here as a single traveller. Generous sized room and good bathroom. Found all the staff very attentive and spoke good English. Location is good, near Old Town, a pleasant stroll.
I can also recommend the coffee and cakes at the Sheraton, especially the Sheraton Torte!
My only gripe with the hotel was the swimming pool. It was advertised on the website(Octopus) as being part of the hotel. However, it is a seperate entitiy, the Parcelsus Spa, and you have to pay for a ticket, 4 euros. The pool itself was great with full spa facilities, just a little inconvenient as if accessing from the hotel you had to ring and bell and wait for someone to let you in. It also closed at 7pm. Apart from this, I had a wonderful stay and can thoroughly recommend it to other fellow single travellers.

I booked this hotel for a two night stay in Salzburg after having read so many rave reviews on Trip Advisor. I'm still wondering what it is that the other reviewers found so great about this place. My room was VERY old and dingy, with old furniture, creepy art on the walls, and a TV straight out of the 70s. I was first given a smoking room, though I requested non-smoking, and was told my the front desk clerk that it was actually a non-smoking room, but there just happened to be ashtrays in the room (WHAT?). I was not impressed at all. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

A wonderful big city hotel. When we arrived we were upgraded to a suite so that started our stay off on a great note. We were here for 3 days and could have stayed 30 it was so relaxing. Even thought the hotel had a number of tour groups staying you never felt crowded even at breakfast. Speaking of breakfast it was a great buffet with an omlet bar. Hotel is located about a good 10 minute walk from the old part of the city but its an enjoyable walk along the river or throught the park and its gardens. Room was very quiet even thought we overlooked a busy street.

Free computers with internet access in the business center. If you are driving the hotel is easy to find and its a snap to get out of the city when are you are ready to leave.
