I do not know where all the positives came from. We doubted whether we should stay at the Intercontinental Berchtesgaden, which we know for years already or try the Sheraton, recommended by a friend. What a big disappointment! Rooms are very old-fashioned. Rooms for Club-level are at 2nd floor, while Club Lounge is at 7nd floor. Long walk to the old town.
I asked for renovated rooms and they told us our room was renovated...It did not look like it. Very faded colors. Only bathroom was ok (walk in shower, no bath-tub). We booked a clubroom which costed us € 260,00. Not worth the extra money. Although you can have drinks all day (soft drinks and alcohol), the snacks are very limited. Some salads, cheeses and a hot dish. The cheese was on the buffet from 12 noon and was not cold. When I took some at 7pm it was all dark and did not look very fresh. The design of the newly renovated club lounge was very nice and the view nice. Our little daughter (5) was charged an extra € 30,00 to come into the lounge. For an extra bed for her they charged € 25,00. Roomservice ok, overall not to expensive but they charged us € 7,00 for a portion of french fries!!! Ridiculous!!! Even at Burj-al-Arab in Dubai where we stayed at recently we did not pay that much for a portion of fries! Again breakfast in the lounge , very limited choice. Staff was ok, not overly friendly or helpful. No, never again the Sheraton Salzburg for us, there are a lot better options in the area!!

Regarding your comments towards our lounge, we regret to hear that the service and variety did not meet you requirements, as most of our guests tell us it is one of the nicest lounges.
