“Walking distance to center of Salzburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We have stayed at this location three times. Updated rooms, free wifi in the lobby, decent breakfast spread for decent price. A McDonalds about a block away also. We got a family room with a double bed and a set of bunks for the kids with our own private bathroom. Linens and towels included! This is a hostel/hotel so lots of backpackers and younger crowd. Still very suitable for families and the prices for rooms are cheap and if you get them far enough in advance even cheaper. Really large lounge area with coffee bar and a really pleasant staff. Always nice and helpful which is great since they are dealing with a lot of people all day long. They have a garage for a fee per night for parking so your vehicle is secure. Within walking distance to the salzburg city center and all the shops and fortress. Plenty of restaurants within a block or two of this hotel too. It's a nice place to make as a halfway overnight point or to stay while sightseeing in the Salzburg area. Would recommend for all travelers on a budget or not!

We visited Salzburg for a two night sightseeing stop and were delighted with this hotel. It's somewhere between a hostel and a hotel, but I loved the atmosphere and the rooms, whilst basic, were clean and well presented, with everything we needed.
Best things about this hotel were:
- Very low price both for the room and for the (optional) breakfast
- Bar open 24 hours, which also sells snacks, bottled water etc.
- Friendly and helpful staff (although, as other reviewers have said, you sometimes have to queue as it's a busy hotel)
- Good location - not right in the city centre but walkable in good weather and a taxis are cheap and readily available.
- Convenient parking at a reasonable price

This hotel will definitely be my first choice when I next visit Salzburg.

The staff were not very friendly nor helpful. Reception was understaffed, one had to wait in line and it could take more than 15 minutes for a simple question. The wifi for the rooms were free but guests needed to go down to the reception to re-generate passwords and usernames everyday. Sometimes the passwords/usernames could not be used at all because of duplication. Wifi speed in dorm room was slow. Breakfast at 5.90 euro covered a variety of healthy food. Rooms and toilets/bathrooms were clean though.

Really happy with our decision to stay here. We were a bit worried about the distance from the city center, but for the length of our stay it was fine. It cost £10 to take a taxi from the station on the first night and we used the bus everyday after that. We were happy with the room, it was clean and comfortable with plenty of space.

I visited salzburg for a week-end and we stayed at this hotel. I was pleasently surprized by the homy atmosphere there, nice staff and services. Even if it is more of a family hotel and there were many childern it wasn't disturbing.
It is about 20 minutes walk far from the hystorical center.

First of all, this a wierd hostel, this is more like a huge hotel. There is 102 rooms and ONLY one washer and ONE dryer which is totally ridiculous. Moreover, it was out of order, no comments. The same goes for the kitchen (only one oven for more than 102 rooms)... The breakfast was too expensive. The lockers were too narrow to put a backpack. It could be good to put tablet beside of the beds. The rooms which are along of Fürbergstraße are very noisy.
However, the rooms are huge and clean. This is easy to go in the city center by public transportation.

Room Tip: not along the Fürbergstraße. Too noisy.

if you're looking for a cozy, typical salzburger hotel with a warm atmosphere and personal touch, this is not the place for you.
However, if you are after a good value accommodation with clean and tidy rooms, this hotel is just fine.
The location is not central, it takes 25min walk to get to the centre. The hotel has a parking but it does not come for free.
