Description: The restaurant is called quite simply “esszimmer” (“dining room”). Anything more would be superfluous, says star chef Andreas Kaiblinger. After all, the “real adventure happens in the cooking pot.”

“Great restaurant - excellent also for celiac people. Rated in IT and EN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

First of all, sorry for my english.

I've been there with my family, informing the restaurant 10 minutes before arriving that my sister is celiac and that a 3 years old boy was part of the group.

They provide immediately a baby chair, and gluten free bread. On the menu there was a choice of different dishes that my sister could have, the waiter followed her with all the explanation without going every time to the kitchen.

all the people were happy with the choice of food. My risotto was really good and the dear fillet ad well. I did not take the desert cause none of the one in the list was of my taste.
Great choice of wines.

“Our favorite meal in Austria!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

We booked a table before the music festival performance and this was our best in Austria by far. The ambience and service was impeccable and the service friendly and accommodating -- but the food was terrific. We we a little concerned walking up to restaurant as the way we approached it we thought we might have the wrong address - the neighborhood does not have an upscale feel. We walked through the door with trepidation -- but then Ahhh... this is the place. They were very accommodating of english speakers and the food selections were varied and interesting. We had some terrific fresh bass with mushrooms - beautifully prepared and plated. The portions were ample - just right, not too small not too big. We saved room for dessert and it was beautiful and tasty with many small bite of cherry and chocolate. We asked for them to call a taxi to take us to the festival -- which they did and all was perfect.

“Best high end meal we had in Salzburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

This was the best dinner we had during a week of eating in Salzburg's best restaurants. We should have ordered the multi-course prix fixe, which is the better value (though still very expensive) and offers more tastes of delicious and beautiful offerings. The room was modern and serene with tables well spaced for private conversation. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We met the chef on our way out, and he was very gracious. Definitely a special occasion meal. I would go again.

“One of the best meals ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

My mother and I had dinner here last week and were blown away. The staff was friendly and attentive. We sat on the patio and listened to church bells. The tasting menus were all enticing, but we opted for the vegetarian version. Each course was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The paired wines allowed us to taste many fantastic Austrian wines. The whole evening was an artful experience we will never forget.

“Fabulous creative food, superb service, worth the money!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Had an amazing meal at Esszimmer tonight. Everything was perfect. Lovely calming decor, impeccable service and the food was devine. Creative presentation, delicious sauces and seasonings, a real "foodies" delight. I had the Green menu which was vegetarian and my husband had the fish menu. There wasn't one course that wasn't a delightful explosion of taste, color and freshness. Totally worth the money.. If you are in Salzburg for dinner, I highly recommend you go to this restaurant..
