“Beer and food eclectic style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

The beer Keller was great fun nights with some very strong beer… take care! It was free entry with many different halls to choose from with smokers and children’s rooms available.
The local food choice was great but be prepared to be adventurous. Sausage great and pork hock was delightful.
You did not need staff as you found your place at large tables with people from many different nations.
If you are after a ‘dining out’ experience it’s not for you. If you are looking for down to earth traditional fun make sure you do this venue

“What I would call traditional”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

It almost feels as though you are stepping back in time when you are in this beer hall. We visited here after seeing it on the travel channel (Samantha Brown). It's a really neat place as you grab your mug, small or large, rinse it with hot or cold water, and then they fill it. The only downside was they only serve one type of beer. We loved all the food choices. We had the pork knuckle. It was great; loved that they cut it for you! We also tried a few items from the deli style place, some stuffed pickles, and peppers. Of course, we also had an apple streusel. All were very good.

“Amazing - no other words necessary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

The experience of the Augustiner brewery is an absolute must - once you find it, you'll keep going back! Grab your mug, wash it in the fountain, pay the lady to get a ticket, give the man your mug & ticket - receive your beer. (mind he doesnt splash it everywhere - he's very busy!)
There were smoking & non-smoking halls, so make sure you pick your preference! Great place .. it was actually the cheapest beer we had on our entire trip - so you dont pay more for the gimmick

“Superb experience and the beer is just fine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

One of the highlights of my week in Salzburg. Not much to look at outside but there is a large beer garden peppered with chestnut trees which hints at the operation inside. Take a mug, pay the man, get your receipt, rinse out in the fountain and then your mug is filled with a flourish. Delicious beer and the fast food in the corridor complements the beer perfectly and the prices are so reasonable. Wasn't brave enough to try the horseradish shavings on a plate but you feel like a local for a short time - rare in this town of tourists. But beware, this beer slips down oh so easily!

“Great Atmosphere & Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We had a great experience at the Augustiner Braustueberl. It was Canadian Thanksgiving Day and we were looking for a fun way to celebrate. The venue consists of a number of large halls and an outdoor garden for summer days. You first grab a beer mug from the wall, rinse it to cool it and remove any dust (they are clean) and take it to the keg master to fill. Food is available from a number of kiosks. We chose a roasted pork knuckle (think ham), potato salad, beet salad, sauerkraut and rolls. It was all delicious and extremely reasonably priced!
