“Rushlee House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

My Wife and I stayed for 3 nights at Rushlee House on our trip through the Uist's. We were made very welcome by Linda & Sandy. On arrival I mentioned I liked birding and within a few minutes I was given an up to date print off of the latest sightings. Our room was kept very clean during our stay and the breakfasts were well prepared. Linda also phoned round a few of the local restaurants and made us bookings for a couple of our evening meals. We would/will certainly stay again if/when we next get over to Lochmaddy.

We were a party of six from three different countries, - our first time in the Hebrides. Linda and Sandy provided excellent and comfortable accommodation in North Uist, making us feel immediately very much at home. We arrived on a bank holiday weekend when restaurants were already very booked, but Linda persistently tried all the restaurants and eventually got us a reservation for the first night and then into Langass Lodge, the best restaurant in all the Hebrides, for the second night. She said that if there wasn't a place available, she would have rustled up dinner for the group and I have no doubt she would have done it with great aplomb. The rooms were immaculately clean with very special thoughtful touches. The house was ours with lots of excellent reading material. It's a beautiful part of the world and I commend this B&B to all travellers.

Linda works very hard to offer this excellent service. Our room was at the far end and therefore had a pleasant view of a loch and got the afternoon sun. The bed was very comfy. The shower room was spacious and light with its own window. There is a communal lounge with many interesting books on the surrounding area's wildlife. Linda even provided binoculars, we had forgotten ours. Cooked breakfasts are lovely. You can eat out close-by but we had very enjoyable meals about 15 - 20 min drive away. Linda will give you the gen!! It was cold for May but we had access to as much heat as we wanted.

Room Tip: Room at the far end has pleasant view and gets afternoon sun.

Linda and Sandy are the kindest and warmest hosts we have ever stayed with. Linda did so much for us to make our stay a wonderful experience. The rooms are immaculate, cosy and had the addition of very pleasant sitting room full of interesting reading material and stunning views. We could have happily stayed here more than our three days. Linda also assisted us with restaurant bookings, ferry reservations and kindly washed and dried our clothes. We were so impressed with everything. We had so much more here for our money than any of the pricey hotels we have stayed in. Highly recommend this haven.

A very friendly & Warm welcome. Linda went out of her way to make it a lovely stay as part of our Island hopping holiday to the Outer Hebrides. The food and comfort were excellent. She works so hard to maintain such a high standard and is very passionate and informative on wild life on the islands.

I can only endorse all the positive reviews.Very welcoming and relaxed, spotlessly clean with excellent facilities and an excellent beakfast. The guest lounge was very welcome. As for Trip Advisor I do not feel the need to write 200 characters reiterating previous reviews
