We booked this hotel in a very last moment before our long skiing weekend in Obertauern. First of all I must appreciate responsiveness and flexibility of the hotel staff in the booking process. We occupied a junior suite (easily accommodates four person) which was well equipped including a kitchen and spotlessly clean.
The hotel is of a contemporary design (great!) and has excellent fitness and wellness facilities.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel serves only a breakfast - wast variety of food and everything very fresh - so for dining you need to go outside. However Obertauern offers plenty of choice.
A couple of minus points - the hotel is not directly on a slope so when coming back from skiing you need to walk for couple of hundreds yards. Check out is at 10am which limits your last day skiing however the staff offered us to take a shower and change in the sauna area.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Manggei, Obertauern’s first Design Hotel, impresses you with its simplicity and naturalness. Breakfast “only” allows you freedom to plan your day without other meal commitments. Design is interpreted in Manggei in various ways: the natural materials from the region, the modern and yet alpine architecture that blends harmoniously with the surrounding rock faces, the flexible room arrangement allowing a variety of combinations and the refreshingly clean lines of the interior design. These are just some of the features which will make for a very special holiday experience. ... more less
