“A good place to stay in Graz”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2010

We spent one night here in September visiting friends whilst on a trip to Austria. We had stayed here before and the hotel had not changed. The room is modern, comfortable bed and walk in shower with separate toilet.Despite being next to the main railway station and bus terminus there was very little disturbance from outside, we heard some late night revellers returning to their rooms inside the hotel. We didn't take the 9 euro breakfast but went over to the railway station where there are plenty of cafes to get a cheaper option.Trams leave regularly from outside the hotel into the centre of Graz so easy to get about. We ofter visit friends in Graz and would happily stay here again.

Simply put, this hotel is everything you need. Clean, with all the comodities you may need, well laid out and with some little pluses.

I loved the shower and the fact that it has a glass to look into the bedrrom. The rooms are small but the space is perfectly used so it does not feel unconfortable at all, actually I have been in hotels with much less space than this one.

Internet is free in the hotel lobby, breakfast was good and plenty with a good variety of items, although I think that friendliness from the waitress could improve a little (not even a good morning when we walked in). They charge 9 Euros per person.

They also charge 9 Euros per parking, but that I did not like as you simply leave your car on the street anyway so it makes no difference really.

Appart from those couple of things I will strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who does not need to be in 5 stars when travelling.

My first memories of Hotel Daniel date back to the times it used to be a Best Western and back then it wasn't the most pleasant of all hotels, however all that has changed. They had someone re-style the entire look and feel of the hotel and they did something quite amazing.

The rooms are of moderate size and have been nicely remodeled, put in modern accessories and overall provide for a decent nights sleep. While the rooms were remodeled you could tell that over all it is a fairly old hotel, but they have done a very decent job at making it modern and comfortable and at €79 a night for the three of us it was a proper bargain.

As I was traveling with my wife and daughter (they had a vacation, while I worked) we had asked for a crib to be placed in our room and we were very pleased with the service we got. These folk are very child friendly.

The hotel is located just meters from the main train station in Graz and offers some limited on-site parking (paid) for guests. Being so close to the train station also means you are quite a bit away from the proper city center. It is just about walking distance, but it isn't the most interesting walk, thus take a tram or a bus, you won't miss anything on your way into town.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone on business, but not sure I would recommend it for a vacation.

This is a great hotel for its price. The rooms are smallish, but well designed and comfortable. It would have been good to have some more space for luggage. Thus, the smaller rooms are not recommended for travelers with a lot of luggage. The wireless did not work in the room, but was fine in the lobby. Breakfast is very good (except for OJ) and the lobby doubles as a bar which is pleasant in the evening. Overall, this was a very good experience (except a single CD playing on an endless loop morning and evening).

Trying to be short... Nice designed hotel with rooms a little bit small but OK. There is not a proper bathroom but two boxes, one with the toilet and another with the shower that closes with a sliding door. The shower has a window that can be seen from the bed that must be very nice in some situations but, at least in some days of the month for women, is nothing more than embarrassing. Come here if you are alone or really, really comfortable with the person you are travelling with. I came with my husband but even so, I would like him not to see some situations... However, the hotel could easily solve this problem having a window shade that could be pulled up (actually, someone have tried that in our room…there was still some tape on the wall over the window…). Nice breakfast, just with too little fruit. Receptionist was very far from the top of kindness and not that helpful when asked for something. Location is very good, next to the railway station, taxi park and tram stop. Just about a 10-15 min walk to the main square in the centre of town (...5 minutes by tram). All together is a very good option to stay in Graz with a good quality/price ratio.

Hotel is on nice location, rooms are cool, but the walls are so thiny, so, u can hear what's happening in the room next to u. It's full of colours, it's clean. There is a parking place just in front of the hotel, but u have to pay it additional. I would reccomend this hotel to everyone.

Interesting and original interior decorating but very small rooms. Close to station, a bit of walking to city centre and arts hall. Moderately priced (compared to other hotels).
