“conveniently located for both public and individual transport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

for starters: this is Ibis - you know what to expect and you get it; well almost: they lack the most prominent Styrian wine (the Schilcher) in the small but quite comfortable bar.
Room is clean, bathroom is alright and the breakfast (extra) provides the usual options.
Windows can be opened but this is not the most quiet environment (see "choose a good room")
I mentioned "transport": the hotel is located next to the train station, and if you use the public parking underneath the hotel, tell the reception at check-in. For their price you will get the multiple entry option.
Warning: the glass lift takes some getting used to.

Room Tip: rooms with even numbers lead into the core while odd numbers face a main thoroughfare to the east an...

Stayed for three nights here to attend the Austrian F1 race. Located right by the train station. But you'll never hear any trains. It's pretty quiet considering it's position.
Small rooms as you would perhaps expect of a budget hotel. But comfortable and very clean. The furniture made it perhaps feel like we were staying in an Ikea store.
Nice to have breakfast looking out on the city from two floors up.
Small lounge area by reception where you can have a drink from the bar.
I'd stay there again if I was back in Graz.

Situated right next to the train station of Graz, this is a perfectly located hotel. Modern building, with very fast elevator right next to a supermarket, which is also very convenient. Staff extremely friendly and efficient; lobby has a computer with a printer, for 15 minutes free use. Internet in the room very good, and breakfast is fabulous. Big windows in breakfast buffet looking out to the square in front of the train station. Room is very nice, modern, pleasant color configuration; mattress is great. 20 minute walk into Old Town Graz.

This is a very basic hotel that is great for a quick layover. It doesn't go far in terms of luxury but it caters for the basic needs of an overnight stay. It's location and pricing makes it a great choice for when you are on the go and need to spend a night before traveling again

I had absolutely no problems with the hotel itself. Beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are equipped with pretty much everything (no safe in my room, don't know about the others). Reception staff were always friendly and spoke perfect English. WiFi was also very good and very fast! Smoking is not permitted in any of the rooms, but you can smoke in the fire escape as there are ashtrays there. Cannot comment on the breakfast as I didn't have any at the hotel, but there are small bakeries/coffee shops at the train station in case you opt out on it.

Since the hotel is situated right at the train station, it is extremely easy to get to places from here. Trams take you right to the centre transfer point Jakominiplatz (which is technically about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel) so location is great. The train station itself also has a supermarket which is open 7 days a week.

The only downside to the location is it can be a bit unsettling in the evening as there are some strange characters walking around there, but that is typical of train stations and they don't really seem dangerous.

Would definitely recommend, and stay here again myself :)

We picked this hotel as we are travelling around Austria by train. Our room was a bit noisy it sounded like it was near the laundry room. Also there is building going on nearby which started up at 7 a.m.However the bed and shower were fine WiFi good in the room and staff were friendly.A pleasant walk across the party to the centre.Good for a short stay.

A group of us were there for one night while touring. This is a modern-type hotel on busy streets near a mall. However, late at night we had trouble finding any open restaurants in walking distance. Check-in was fast although the single elevator hotel was slow and you can only press one floor at a time. The room was on the small side without much room to spread out but it was clean and quiet. The bed was firm and low with only 2 flat pillows. Breakfast was typical for these parts - a variety of meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, breads/pastries. Graz is a nice city to visit with lots of shopping, restaurants, and historical sites.
