Visited Graz as part of a business trip.
This looks like a fairytale place, complete with a castle on top!
But the city is at the same time very lively and evolving; daring architecture in the heart of the old quarter, and very lively young population too.
Streets are bustling with trams and bikes, and cycling along the river is pure pleasure.
The locals can be a bit of hit-and-miss with regards to politeness - but it definitely helps if you speak German. I think a lot of what looks like rudeness, is people's embarrassment for not speaking other languages.
That said, many people seemed comfortable to speak English.
If you can do one thing in Graz, visit the top of the castle hill (Schlossberg). The views are extremely rewarding!
