I had the pleasure to view a performance last week in this very large, new, very modern music theatre in Linz. I am not an audio-phil expert but I think the sound is good. What is exceptional is the seating and the large hall itself. We only got tickets in the last row on the second balcony (so the cheapest tickets, furthest away from the stage) but you could hear and see perfectly, the whole stage, without any twists or limiting the sight of somebody else. That is very rare. And the open spaces are large, creating a very friendly and open atmosphere where the public feels invited; in fact you can walk into and around the public area anytime anyway; there are a restaurant and a coffee bar with a wonderful view into the park. And the theatre is indeed aproachable from the central park, so it presents itself accessible - the very opposite of elitist and only for experts.
It is a theatre built for you and me to enjoy or even for the first time experience the sound of music.
Best come with public transport although they have a large subterran parking. The ticket always includes the public transport to and from the event!
Be aware that due to the large popularity currently most performances are sold out, plan and buy in advance - although there is always the option to get a last minute standing ticket at very low price, they are probably worth as even there you will see and hear everything very well.
