“great hotel unfriendly staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

in which hotel you have to pay in advance???... in Steigenberger Linz.
what were they thinking that i will run away and not pay?!
for 95 euros with breakfast i expected much more. i stayed 21-22 january 2013.

Very clean, great breakfast, very bad pizza, the staff was terrible and not freindly at all.

I am sorry that i'm coming from east europe so that probably mean that we all are criminals who come, eat, sleep and run away without paying.
...so we do not deserve the same treatment as your "Normal" guests.

I will NEVER come to this hotel again. you made me feel like a 2'nd class citizen.
Imposible to get a smile... cold treatment...totaly unfriendly staff.

NEVER AGAIN!

I had a good view of the Danube river from my room that tempted me to go for a long walk along the river in the morning. A good place to enjoy a conversation with a drink in the outdoor area. Service at breakfast was very good. The supervisory staff at breakfast was quite helpful in making suggestions.

I particularly liked the outdoor seating overlooking the Danube and it's only a short walk (15 minutes) along the river to the town centre....If you can, get a room overlooking the river. I'd definitely stay again.

We slept wonderfully in this double room overlooking the beautiful Danube river, cycling path and bridge.

The room and the restaurant were so nice.

The restaurant had wonderful, friendly service and excellent, food. Not only that, but it overlooked the Danube.

The only thing I think is odd, is the artwork in the room. There was an American Film Classic theme; I never figured out why.

Room Tip: Ask to overlook the river.

Hey! I chose this hotel because I've stayed at Steigenberger Vienna a few times. Of course there is a big difference beween these 2. Steigenberger Linz is a 4 star hotel. It has good amenities, but not excellent. It is perfect for travelling, but not for a holiday.
Anyway, it depends. If you do not have many expectations( luxury), than you'll be fine. It is clean, the price is good and the rooms are customized.

Very friendly staff, all of them were excellent. Great patio to eat breakfast and enjoy superb views of the Danube. Big no no was the lack of air con. Can't even open windows as they kept blowing back and the noise from the autobahn made it impossible to sleep. In truth a two / three star hotel at four star prices.

First of all, is it a business hotel, which means you have excellent access to the highway and a big enough park deck.
Big minus is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, the open style bathroom and the noisy rooms (too close to the highway, which is especially annoying as you have to open the windows due to the lack of A/C)
