The two highlights of the Abbey are the library and the church. In different ways, they were breathtaking. The library is stacked from floor to balcony to ceiling with books. High above the ceilings are decorated with trompe l'oeil paintings, increasing their apparent space.
The church has to be the apogee of Baroque art. The main altar and side chapels are encrusted with decoration. You would think that it would all be too much, but somehow it isn't. It's exuberant and balanced at the same time.
